Jeremy Bulloch.

I got his autograph about 10 years ago and I was wearing a t-shirt with the mysterious logo Boba Fett wears on his left shoulder pauldron. Bulloch got all interested in my shirt and told me he really liked it. He's all "into" the big cult following for Boba Fett...and the fans made him his own version of the armor, gave it to him for free, and he wears it around sometimes I guess...LMAO

This doesn't deserve it's own thread. But it should go somewhere:

Tuesday evening a bunch of dudes get together here in Springfield and kick a ball around. There's a local soccer field and I've been lucky enough to join them.

One of the dudes playing is none other than our very own DMAC.

This was a particularly sucky Tuesday, as the field with the short grass was taken so we were playing in tall grass, on a large field with uneven numbers -- and I was ****ing playing on the outnumbered team, so it literally means I'm defending fastbreaks, pathetically outnumbered every time, nonstop for however long.

Once, trying to retrieve a ball and pass it back to the keep, my plant foot hits the earth weird and my knee tweaks. Doesn't feel good. It wasn't serious (I was back in action after a 15 minute writhe-fest on the sideline), but it did level me for a few minutes on the field. I alerted the guys I thought it was my knee and jackknifed over in the grass.

Dude comes up and says "so you'd say your knee went the wrong... direckshun?" and jogs off laughing his ass off. Shiteating grin on his face, as obviously we're the only two people on the field who get the reference. I was in too much pain to laugh, but I fear I legitimately got ChiefsPlanet pwned in real life.

Ah. He actually was in two places last weekend. I heard he was somewhere else doing a show (Philly?) right before us (Denver).

I just look at it this way - the guy's in his 80s, and has been signing autographs and getting his picture taken for two straight days. Reasonable to assume he's not going to be in the best of moods by the time I wander up.

Annually, there is this huge Star Trek festival roughly 30 minutes from where I am from in a small town called Riverside, Iowa. This is generally considered pretty big deal for Star Trek fans. The reason they host this in Riverside is because James T. Kirk was evidently raised there.

Jeremy Bulloch is not a celebrity.

His character is a cult figure, but he was wearing a mask the whole time. He's less of a celebrity than whoever the guy was wearing the C3PO costume.

He was in the area May 24-26. At the theater by my house on the 25th.

Do people like Shatner have to do things like that for fiduciary reasons, or do they actually want to do it?

They enjoy doing it.

They make a lot of money doing it. As mentioned above, Shatner charges $50 for an autograph. Sit doing that for a few hours and you've made thousands in a day. I'm sure they make as much or more from actually showing up in the first place.

He's part owner in Priceline.com in addition to penning several successful Star Trek novels, starring in film and TV for years on end, not to mention his commercial work.

As far as I know, the guy is worth tens of millions of dollars but at age 82, I have to assume that he's doing it because he loves the attention.

The last time I saw him was at Jerry's Deli in Studio City a few years back and the word "Attention Whore" wasn't a strong enough adjective to describe his behavior.
