I am pretty impressed by KU thus far this season and just dumbfounded by the score against NU today.

And just in case there were any Jayhawk fans screaming about Mizzou running up the score on Nebraska earlier this year, you should be ashamed of yourself. :p :)

Good post. I honestly don't know if KU can beat MU this year. I have seen enough to realize they have a really good team. It is obvious to anyone with a brain that KU has a really good team as well. In any case, I would be shocked if they throttled KU like a lot of MU fans seem to think may happen. I think it will be a close game that could go either way. Good luck the rest of the way, except against KU of course. ;)

Okay, definitely Top 20.

But not Top 15.

:D

That's your opinion...and you are entitled to it.

But frankly that argument carries no more weight than a Tiger fan saying KU hasn't played outside the state but once or twice.

It's going to be a good game in Arrowhead, and for once I am pissed I will not be there to watch.

Besides, if history is any judge one of these two teams will puke on themselves first and totally let the air out of that Arrowhead matchup.

No. KU CAN beat Missouri. KU CAN beat LSU. Does it mean they probably would? No. Even if KU played LSU 20 times and beat them once, it still means KU CAN beat LSU. Any team in the top 25 can beat any team at any given time if the right amount of luck and if they play well.

The Chiefs CAN beat the Colts. Maybe 1 out of 25 times, but they still CAN do it.

That is sports. You need alot of luck, and skill.

I want both teams to come into the game with the same amount of losses that they have now.....and if we beat you then it would make the victory more sweet, as I am sure a win over MU would make it doubly sweet for Hawk's fans.

Part of me wonders if the score will turn out 45-42 with both defenses being shredded, or will the defense's rise up and make it a 14-13 game. (of course in Mizzou's favor :) )

Kansas has a good football team, we all agree on that. The question is still, how good.

Respect is earned. It's not earned by beating MAC or Sun Belt or Southland teams at home. It's not primarily earned by taking care of business against weak conference opponents. Certainly not by beating a broken, demoralized, decimated, coachless, Nebraska team at home when the program is at a historic low point. All the teams they have played that look like they belong in a major football conference have played them close so you can judge them to be better than the KSUs and the A&Ms of the world but you don't know much else.

There's virtually no way possible the schedule could be easier. The athletic department made it that way, so these are the resulting questions they have to deal with until it works itself out.

I'm not saying we know much more about Missouri at this point. They've basically done the same thing - taken care of business against inferior opposition, the only difference being that they showed they belong on the same field as Oklahoma.

You aren't going to 'convince the haters' until you prove something.

Can't argue with much here. Yeah, KU has played a weak schedule. We admit it. Mangino admits it. Says he did it to give this young and talented team confidence. It seems to have worked. But KU didn't just beat cupcakes, they throttled all of them, including Nebraska. That is what really good teams do to weak opponents. Speaking of Nebraska....MU fans try to justify their win over Huskers by saying the team was somehow different back then. I say BS. Hell, if anything they are better with Ganz at QB. But I digress, that is a subjective argument. Fact of the matter is that KU beat NU by 37 points while MU beat them by 36 points. I don't see much difference.

My big concern also...with all the hype of the game in Arrowhead, both teams need to take care of business.

I haven't read this whole thread, but please tell me no Tiger fan has said that thus far.

I think it will be somewhere in between. Maybe 31-30.

I don't give a team more credit for beating a weak team by 30 instead of 20 if in either case you were in control of the game and never in real danger of losing.

Nebraska is what they have been all year, a team significantly worse than either MU or KU. It doesn't really matter what order of magnitude their implosion has taken on, I view both games equally as simply a good team beating weak team.

Before this week, other than conference doormat Baylor, everyone had kept within a score or two of Kansas which may or may not mean anything. Time will tell.

This is what pisses me off.

Missouri is 7-1, ranked in the Top 10, having its best football year in decades.

And here come the Gayfrauds riding their pussy schedule to a 9-0 record, constantly one spot above us in the rankings, stealing our fucking thunder, continuing to roll against inferior opponents, and there's nothing we can do because we don't play until the last game of the season. THAT SUCKS.

Yes, Kansas is good, but if they played Missouri's schedule, they would NOT be undefeated. I know this - anybody with a fucking functional brain in their head knows this (obviously this excludes kc connection). They'd be no better than 7-1, and in fact, they'd probably be 6-2.

As for Missouri, just one ambush, one game caught looking ahead, just one extra loss, and the Arrowhead game becomes irrelevant, and the KUpcake schedule will have put Kansas in the championship game.

It simply isn't right.

Yes, I know that. KU can beat MU. I think it's a pretty even matchup, fwiw. I suppose I should have said I don't know if KU will beat MU.
