The CHiefs claiming him only helps Denver
Sure, make Elway look smart to keep him from Chicago |

Teams to watch with waiver claims before Bears: Redskins, Dolphins, Chiefs. Any could decide to put in a waiver claim for Kyle Orton. |

So Denver is unaffected by the Chiefs claim. The only team hurt by it is Chicago, who happens to still be on our schedule this year. Do the damn thing, Scott. |

I don't know why a team that is not seriously in the playoff hunt would make a claim... sure, you get a guy for 6 games and when you don't resign him, you get a comp pick next year. Big Deal.
I would think that any of the teams below would have an interest in a QB for the playoff stretch: (11) Eagles; (12) Chargers; (16) Bills; (17) Jets; (20) Raider; (21) Bengals; (22) Cowboys; (23) Falcons; (24) Saints; (26) Ravens; (27) Steelers; (28) Patriots; (29) Lions; (30) Bears; (31) 49ers; and (32) Packers. That's a lot of teams, but if I'm a team like the Falcons, Saints, Ravens, Steelers, Patriots, Lions, Bears, 49ers and Packers... would it really be silly to invest $2.5M in another QB insurance option at this point in the season? Eagles, Chargers, Bills - they may not be going anywhere, but it wouldn't shock me to see them make a play... same for the Jets maybe too, and never ever think the Raiders aren't going to make a play. |
I think Orton is underrated ... Cassel would never get his starting job back.
claim Orton cut cassel(after IR) develop Stanzi grab QB in draft if a chance pops up |

John Clayton on ESPN made it sound kind of like Orton wanted to go to Chicago and might try to convince the Chiefs not to pick him up.
