Not meaning to brag, but I gave an Oscar-worthy performance of pretending that he got all of my money. My lip was quivering when I told him that I didn't have money for food.

I'm stoked. I got off the freighter almost exactly a year ago, and I left a business card and note in the desk of my cabin. I just got an e-mail from another guy who did the same trip and found my card, and we're going to compare notes and experiences.

Apparently this ship averages one passenger per year.

Apparently he's still on the ship, and is about to get off. He found my card and note while packing. I guess he didn't use that drawer of the desk. I'm looking forward to hearing from him again.

I'm going to ask. He's getting off at Kelang, Malaysia, which is one port past where I got off. I bet he didn't get off the ship in Vietnam because it's a long trip into town and I don't think the ship stays there long.
