KU got an easy road, playing first game in Omaha, then on to St. Louis. I'll laugh if Roy Williams knocks them out in front of a full KU house. Mizzou got sent West as the "last" #2 based on SoS. I think Mizzou will draw FLA, Marquette then Michigan St, which is within the realm of possibility to make it out. Probably the best chance they've got. Kansas State loses to Syracuse in their 2nd game, Iowa State gets by UConn, then gets whacked by Kentucky. Baylor gets whacked by Duke. I don't think Texas gets by Cincy in the first game. Thoughts?

I'm not a big fan of all these analysts picking Mizzou to make it to the Final 4.

(Though I don't really see how anything could motivate more than a chance to win a national championship.)

I agree. They just need to get to the Final 4 and make everyone stfu.

What do Mizzou fans think of the matchups in the west?

Marquette might give Mizzou problems although I worry about Florida. After that I don't see them having any issues with anyone else. I feel like they will matchup well with MSU.

Is he alright? That guy is the biggest Duke homer on earth, to not pick them in the Fianl Four is stunning. But many, many analysts think Mizzou will come out of the West.

KC_Connection 03-11-2012 06:28 PM

I did say that MU had no chance at the #1 with their schedule and lack of big wins. But you did get the draw of a #1 overall seed in the first round with hapless Norfolk, so it's not like it hurt at all.

Mizzou #3 in the Coaches Poll, with one #1 vote. Interesting that the coaches have us ranked so high. Didn't they look at SOS?

No, that's why Murray State is so undeservingly high in those ridiculous polls.

Yes. All the teams above them on the S-Curve played a more difficult schedule than MU and won more big games (as I said all afternoon). None of this is surprising.

They seem to be on a bit of an upset alert, showing that stat on KU upsets 3 or 4 times now, even though teams like Michigan State lose in the first weekend just as often.... "an iffy 2/15 game".... meh, I hope the players get the message. Can't take the day off.
