Would live to watch the final round, but Dish and FOX are apparently fighting with each other, and the channel's been ****ing removed.

Is there a decent stream somewhere?

Also, this open is as good as any other. Maybe you're just disappointed that Tiger, Phil, Rory, and many of the other big names aren't in it.

The golf itself is classic US Open golf.

This is not classic US Open golf. The starch has been out of the greens and they are much softer than a traditional US Open green complex. Usually you have to hit shots 12-18 yards short of the pin and run them into the hole, but these greens will take long and mid irons with no issues.

Sure he's a choker. So is Johnson, Speith and many others.

I'd still like to see someone who's been so close so many times finally finish one off.

Spieth gave away *a* major, has won two, and has a couple of top 3s aside from that. Westwood has been in contention in over a dozen majors and has always managed to collapse. The two are not remotely similar.

I have no idea why they would do that. I would imagine that FOX is carried by your local cable company. How would FOX know if you have DISH, D*, or cable based upon your ISP?

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-19-2016 03:27 PM

ROFL...no one grinds into contention when he is out of it and then immediately chokes like Jim Furyk.

KC_Connection 06-19-2016 03:29 PM

At least Jim will get his top 5.

I still think Muffner is the favorite, although I could see Stenson winning as well. Furyk usually just gets into position to choke at majors (Olympic, Winged Foot) and I don't expect anything different from him here.

That's how Furyk plays. Like Luke Donald, he plays for top 5s rather than wins. He's completely gutless.

He also sets a terrible example, taking two minutes to hit every shot and backing off of each putt multiple times, and that shit bleeds down into public golf. He's a much worse example than Tiger cussing.

Good example: Fifteen is a cut pin. Furyk has two holes where he could potentially make a birdie, otherwise he's relying on Dufner to make a bogey going in.

Rather than trying to hit a cut into that pin Furyk never even takes the water on, ending up 50 feet short of the hole. He's the Alex Smith of golfers.

Nah. He is who he is. He's always been a guy who gets a slew of good finishes in majors but very rarely is in the lead late. He just grinds out T7s in majors on his leather ass.

The thing about Furyk is that, the 2003 US Open aside, I never look at him when he's on a major leaderboard and even consider him.

He never strikes me as a guy who plays to win majors, but rather a guy who plays for top 10s.

And Elkington throws another dart into 16.

That link required me to state which content provider I use (Dish) and log in to my Dish account, unfortunately.

DeChambeau has the funkiest swing this side of Craig Parry.

KC_Connection 06-19-2016 03:42 PM

DJ has no real excuse not to win this tournament, so he'll probably find some way to lose again.

'Hamas' Jenkins 06-19-2016 03:50 PM

I hate this rule. Guy hits an absolute horrible tee shot and he's going to get bailed out with a perfect lie.

Ernie Els won the '94 US Open here on a similar type of bullshit ruling.

tk13 06-19-2016 04:37 PM

And here comes the Dustin Johnson controversy. Possible penalty stroke on a putt. But it hasn't been officially declared yet. Sounds like he'll find out after his round is over. This could be a cluster.
