Good god.... Soria and Young have absolutely killed us this year.... and both are signed to multi-year deals.

Merrifield had an OPS around .300 over his last week to 10 days before being demoted and looked absolutely lost at the plate. They demoted him to give him every day playing time as he tried to rebuild some confidence.

He will be back today, I'm sure.

So glad we have today off. The team has to be exhausted after those two games.

These last two games are going to bug us for the rest of the season and offseason, I'm afraid.

We blew a golden opportunity to win it on Tuesday, and a 4-run lead on Wednesday. Both in extra innings.

Baseball, man.

You watch - we are going to miss out on the playoffs by no more than four games. We will be able to point to Soria's early season blown games and this very series as to why it happened.

Or, you know, going 7-19 in July.

So much fail in this season, just don't know where to focus for the "THAT'S WHEN IT FELL APART" moment. The point is they could have actually overcame that abysmal July if they hadn't puked up the series against New York. We SHOULD have swept them.

If we would have just played .500 ball in July, we would be holding down a wild card spot and fighting for the Central. I know there is a whole month left to play and anything can happen, but :facepalm:

Soria, yes.

Young got put in a position he was not supposed to & wasn't going to be successful because the team needed an arm for the rotation. He was asked to take the hill and did so without being anything but a pure professional even though going in everyone knew it was gonna be a massacre.

He's a guy who you can get only so many innings out of effectively, and forcing him to start and pitch all those innings makes him way more ineffective. He's a lot better used outta the pen a few times a week & if you can limit his total innings to around 70-80 over the entire season.

Soria had big mistake written all over it I thought the second I heard he was signed.
