I don't expect this years team to compete for the AL Central so I can live with the losses.

The future is very bright indeed!

Can we start a separate thread for Glass bashing? It gets really old. Yeah we know you all hate him, but some of us are actually excited about the future. This thread is great aside from all the "OMG GLaZZ made eleventy BIlLIO DOLERS LAST YEAR!!!111" posts.

The Glass bashing will continue until the major league team starts winning. Or at least trying to win. I get the system is stacked. I get the future is bright. We have the possibility of about a 3 year window, after the kids are called up and before there is another firesale, where this team could be really good. Then again with the history of this team they could all flop. Based on what I've seen over the years my money is on flop. We can agree to disagree on that.

The anger towards glass is completely justified. They are really gonna charge major league prices for the crap they are throwing out there on the field this year? My morning shit looked better today then the Royals rotation is gonna look. And it was taco night last night. If glass and GMDM want to say we aren't going to try and compete this year, then their revenue sharing check for this year should be forfeited, and tix should be sold for discounted prices.

As for glass selling the team, sure it might be a pipedream. I guess ill have to put all my focus in hoping for his death. The more painful the better. Maybe something long and drawn out so his family suffers, like royals fans have since glass has become owner. get them to spend the money on the high priced doctors, so they can tell the glass holes its too hard to beat his sickness so we arent going to try. Or even better: tell him to be patient while we put all our hope into the unproven medicine of the future, brought to you by the same drug company who hasnt cured anything in close to 30 years. But this time its going to work.... You just wait and see.

Revenue sharing is not expected to be spent on the payroll for the players on the 25-man roster, and nothing but the payroll for the players on the 25-man roster. It is expected to help the team. If the revenue sharing is spent on the draft, latin america, and saved for future contract extensions, then there's nothing wrong with that at all.

The 2011 team is going to be horrid. If you don't want to watch prospects while ignoring the record, take the year off and come back in 2012.

So you are willing to pay major league prices for this years team? Or will you go to Omaha to watch all these stud prospects play? And you also feel glass doesn't deserve to be punished for giving up on the major league team?

I don't blame you. How far of a drive is that? An hour or so right?

But who are you bitching to? Complaining in this thread isn't going to cause Glass to spend more money. We all understand how shitty this team has been, and I'm continually impressed by the knowledge displayed in this thread about how that ineptitude has come to pass. We all get it and it has been discussed ad nauseum. Having someone continually bang the same old drum when we finally have some glimmer of hope to talk about is counterproductive in my eyes.

Yes, give or take 10 minutes depending on traffic.

I guess Im just surprised people are willing to give Glass & co a free pass. They haven't given me a reason to believe. The last time I gave them a chance to follow through they raped the city for 250 million dollars and have become an even larger embarrassment. Now i get you all don't live here and don't have to pay the taxes that pay for Kaufman, but i voted yes in good faith that there would be an effort to win. Being told to be patient, for another 3 years at least, I find incredibly insulting.

It feels like we are going in circles here.

What part of:

A. having the best farm system in recent memory (to be clear, these players had to be purchased with money from David Glass);

B. using the strong farm system to churn out quality MLB players (the exact strategy small-market teams like Minnesota, Oakland, and Tampa Bay have used to become perennial winners);

C. allocating capital prudently, rather than throwing gobs of money at random veteran free agents in vain for name recognition;

D. hiring an All Star front office;

does not count as an "effort to win" in your eyes?

We are not going to win 90 games this year, but most people can see the levers of a successful franchise being put into motion here.

I'll add to this, though it dovetails with C:

E. re-signing our best players to long-term deals (Soria, Butler, and every effort was made with Greinke--he simply wanted out)

No one dislikes Glass more than me, but currently there is a lot more to be positive and hopeful about in general.

A still has to be proven true in order for B to happen. C we will see if Glass changes his ways. And it all has to be proven to make D true. I can hope like hell you guys are right but until i see results i refuse to give any credit to a team that loses 100+ games every year.
