I'm doing chili. It's freaking 2 degrees and we need something hot and spicy.

I'll also put this here. What the hell is the aversion to gluten? It's a grain protein that's supported mankind for thousands of years. Is it now a poison?

EDIT: I'm just doing the 2-alarm chili box (with my own homemade chili powder replacing the sawdust they use).

The aversion to gluten is a fad, if you ask me. There are some people that have a real allergy to gluten, but most don't even have an intolerance to the stuff. However, there's a lot of people out there espousing it as a weight-loss method and a way to improve health, etc.

Those that don't have an allergy to it make it very difficult for those that do.

Most of the health fads are bullshit. Remember that and you'll be fine. For decades the assholes who are supposed to be experts were telling us to avoid fats. Now, those same assholes are telling us it's carbs.

I say we kill them all by shoving frozen sticks of sugar coated butter down their throats.

Dinner tonight was just a basic pork chop with some broccoli. Dessert will be frozen egg nog.



I expect I'll have a lot more of dessert than I did of dinner.

looks nice FMB - I did a rudimentary quiche w/o crust.

Carmelized onions, shallots, garlic (cooled)
7 eggs beaten
1.25 cups swiss / cheddar blend
four Tbsp spring onion chopped
nitrate free bacon (demolished to bits)
S&P
