Best option for pass rusher is to bring back Omenihu.

Also, Willie Gay has made it pretty clear on X that he wants back.

I like the Gay idea, I think there’s a role for him as long as he’s willing to accept it and obviously very little money.

Really there’s only one position that I think we still need to sign before the draft and that’s at least one defensive lineman. Anything else is relatively unnecessary until we see how the draft plays out.

Our defense really turned a corner when Omenihu returned... I am very much on board bringing him back, if he is realizing there isn't some blockbuster deal for him out there.

Always been a fan of Gay. Would love to see our defense get a re-injection of Gay.

Now, he’s got a TON to prove and it’s unlikely he’s ever as good as Gary. But are we seeing the plan play out in real time here as far as why Omenihu hasn’t returned despite a very slow market?

If they’re telling Charles that they’re ready to make FAU a starter or at least 50%+ snaps player, it all the sudden becomes a much less desirable situation for Omenihu to return to on one year deal.

IF Felix is ready to be a legit starter, it’s 1000% the right play. But it just might be a huge gamble that doesn’t pan out.

Or it could all turn out to be speculative bullshit on my part, Omenihu returns, and FAU is destined to never start games for us.

I don't think it's impossible that he could have the same sort of career and long-term impact that Omenihu has had. Especially since Spags seems intent on building up his strength rather than try to play him at a lighter weight as a pure speed guy.

Nothing specific on him. He's the type of guy that waits it out until an injury occurs in training camp to sign for top money.

I'd take any of the following:

Safety - Julian Blackmon. Even with Hicks, that room needs depth and a vet, ideally

DT - Calais Campbell - 1,000 years old, and still a massive upgrade. We'll draft someone but we still need more

DE - Omenihu - I'd prefer Smith by a distance but assume he'll be priced out. Again, we really shouldn't go in with the current room if it's avoidable.

OT depth - Probably a luxury, but staylor mentioned Wills, and I'd quite like that.

WR - Elijah Moore as slot depth would be nice. We need some depth options either way.

OTC is showing KC at $27MM in cap space currently, is that correct?

If they can get Trey Smith signed to a long-term deal we could have a ton of $ still.

Doesn’t include Bolton, and I’m not sure it includes JuJu or Minshew either

Is Justin Simmons an option as veteran safety? I know the Eagles are rumored to be signing him.

No doubt. That guy made plenty of clutch plays in KC. Kicking off the comeback against Houston after that horrible 1st quarter will always be a great memory. Despite the early shit show, that return shifted the momentum. That’s something nobody on the team was able to do in the SB loss. Eagles did a great job of controlling and keeping the momentum on their side. I kept thinking if we could just get a little momentum going (before it completely got away from KC), that we could still get back in it. Especially with Pat. But the momentum stayed in their favor, and Pat had one of his top 10 worst games on top of that.

We’ve had some pretty amazing comebacks that were sparked by a return.
