Chiefs strategy on defense: Maintain eye discipline. Set the edge. Know your responsibility. Don't fall for the pre-snap window dressing.

49ers strategy on defense: Run as fast you can and hope Mahomes misses a few throws?

I appreciate the love. He very easily could just side with the 9ers since that's where his legacy is. But he knows he was loved in KC.

Also, this must piss off 9ers fans that he's unwilling to dedicate himself to SF. Which is awesome.

Wisniewski (via his Twitter account) says the team has had a great couple weeks of prep and is really to roll... https://twitter.com/stefenwiz61/stat...755300353?s=21

One of the true X-factors in this game.

Totally...he won 4 SB's there and he is basically staying neutral.

Class act Joe.

I’ve really been annoyed by the lazy discussion of anyone saying the 49ers will win because of last Super Bowls and top offenses being beaten by defensive lines. First it shows that people don’t fully understand how good Mahomes is in and out of the pocket. Does anyone really worry about Mahomes making a play when he is forced out of the pocket?

But it’s really ignoring that all of those QBs that lost those games were essentially statues or held the ball too long and mostly had nowhere near the mobility that Mahomes has. All of those QBs were sacked more than Mahomes who was sacked 19 times this season.

The most common Super Bowls referenced are as follows:

2002 Rams Warner was sacked 38 times.
2007 Brady was sacked 30 times.
2012 Brady sacked 35 times.
2014 Manning was sacked 19 times. Only outlier but he gets rid of the ball quicker than anyone.
2016 Newton sacked 41 times.

Those sack numbers are much more in line with Garrapolo who was sacked 39 times this season. So which QB is going to have a harder time? Not Mahomes and I think that’s pretty clear.

If the Niners pass rush lives up to the hype, I think a lot of people are gonna be in for a surprise at Patrick’s ability to create magic out of nothing.

The 35 is on the Chiefs' side!

They do have a stout D-Line, but their O-Line is garbage.

It's the most overrated thing about them. Shanahan outschemes people. His O-Linemen don't outplay others, they're not that good.

Shanahan is a good coach and knows how to scheme, but he ain't going up against Bill O' Brien and Romeo Crennel here. Reid and Spags are VERY seasoned and know how to counter act schemes. They make adjustments in game and on the fly.

Those predicting the 49er's to run roughshod over this defense are idiots. There's a reason the unbeaten Pats of 2007 didn't finish unbeaten. And it wasn't the dearth of talent on that Giant's defense. They weren't elite that year but played like it when it mattered.

You'll see a similar performance on Sunday.

Seems like most pundits are taking the 49ers because they're "the much better team" and are making it seem like we're lucky to be in the game.

Weezy loves Mahomes and is hating on Dak lol

Well...KC is lucky to be in the game. 24-0 deficit in a playoff game is no joke.

True although I think he was a lot better this year compared to 2018 on the early game situations. His teammates can easily dig a hole without him. See the two playoff games. Both were a result of WR drops, bad defense, and bad special teams.

A couple of those drops were on not very accurate throws, that the receiver still should have caught.

It was an extremely flukey 24-0 though with plenty of time to come back.

The luck evened out over the course of the game and the final margin was indicative of who is the better team.
