whether it's the playcalling, or skill position players or Alex Smith himself, when throwing 45 times you have to complete more than 46% of your passes to have a chance against a team like that.

Is it because of lack of weapons? That the team is Jamaal Charles and then a giant drop off? Yea probably.

Avery dropping the big pass play early in the game was big.

And Charles had 2-3 drops.

Charles's two drops came on the drive that ended in the Bowe TD. Those drops are inconsequential.

Decision making generally isn't Smith's problem. It's the fact that he has tremendous limitations as a passer (and he knows it).

Just ****ing STUPID.

ZERO pressure on Fivehead all night.

We definitely need new receivers and and Offensive line, I guarantee you we are pretty much stuck with Smiff though. He is quite obviously Andy Reids guy.

Seriously, dude. I'm not sure what the thought process is for some of you.

Who gives a shit if we didn't touch him? We stuffed the shit out of the run, they weren't successfully driving the ball up and down the field, and most importantly we held them to their lowest point total of the season IN THEIR HOUSE.

It's the ****ing offenses fault. 100%.

They scored 27 points and would've had 500 yards if they didn't take the pedal off the gas. We didn't touch Manning. You just aren't going to beat him that way. You have to get in his head.

I think they played better than the offense... but that's doesn't mean that's good enough to win.

Pass rush is the second most important thing to QB play in today's NFL. We didn't do either. It's like giving Alex a pass when he goes 15-19 for 100 yards. People would flip at that idea... this is no different. They played good, but not great.

When you look at it from that perspective, you could actually say it's less frustrating. We now know there's no reason they can't win in 2 weeks. Denver certainly didn't outclass them today at all.

Of course, Alex Smith may have something to say about that in the end.

Well, when you put it in terms of "class", we have a shitty, smelly QB with no teeth - not sure we're ready for any ball if his taking snaps.

If this is all he can muster, God help us!

I thought the one before halftime was particularly egregious. It took us out of FG range.

O.city 11-17-2013 11:25 PM

We had 24 first downs tonight?

He needs to be on a headset telling a QB where to throw it then. It would be really cool if every once in awhile the receiver could just catch a pass without doing gymnastics.

he missed several 3rd down passes, missed McGrath wide open for a drive extending play after Avery's drop...took a dumb sack at the end of the first half that a) moved us out of FG range and b) cost us our last timeout...then instead of throwing a hail mary, he decided to run out of bounds...didn't see, or chose not to throw, to Charles streaking down the sideline in one on one coverage...these were terrible decisions

finishing the game by throwing swing passes was just icing...completed less than 50% of his passes

everyone on the offense failed, and Smith most definitely failed with them

tk13 11-17-2013 11:26 PM

Yeah I think the 2 awful sacks and the fumble by Sherman were the worst plays. That and the Avery drop. You give us those 4 plays back and we're legitimately talking about 9 points, at least, taken off the board.

Yeah, I told you this last weekend during the Saints blowout when I said Romo would be a huge upgrade on Smith. You disagreed if I recall correctly.

Unfortunately, guys like Romo aren't really up for trade. We're pretty much stuck with Alex.

O.city 11-17-2013 11:27 PM

The broncos are a really good team. You're not gonna beat them not playing you're best game on the road.

notorious 11-17-2013 11:27 PM

Shit happens.

We can not win them all.
