I don't think the OL was the biggest problem. But we're trying too hard to assign blame to one or two things. Alex made some awful decisions. Then he made some nice throws that were dropped. WR's didn't get separation at times. They didn't run block in key situations. Couldn't pound it in from the 2. Sherman fumbled in the red zone. We couldn't touch Manning even playing against a backup LT. Lots of little things just add up and kill you. Manning is maybe the greatest regular season QB of all time... you have to be better than that to beat him.

We don't have Greg Robinson to kick around anymore!

I know one thing, I don't blame him. If we had just a smidge of a threat to hit the homerun he would have more space.

It was a team loss, but also telling.

Smith deserves about 25% of the blame for that loss. Nevertheless, he reminds me of a starting pitcher who does nothing but throw on the outside corner of the plate. You have to go inside, and you have to be willing to drive the ball into tight spots, but he's afraid, and Denver exploited that fear through most of the game.

Charles is also not the player he used to be. In 2009-10 he scores easily on that play that he broke outside early. He doesn't have the jets he used to.

O.city 11-18-2013 12:00 AM

I dunno, I thought tonight was the most aggressive he's been all year pushing it downfield.

Well, might as well just bury this Offense then.

Those few times he stayed in the pocket and at least took the shot had me hoping for a bit. But in the end, conservative game-managing QB is who he is.

No. He's at least 50% of the blame. He throws the ball right at the offensive line for easy swats. He checkdowns at the first sign of coverage, and when he checks down he picks a fullback to throw to instead of take a chance with a playmaker. His abject failure in the Redzone showed itself when Reid refused to let him throw on a goal to go situation.

Rinse. Lather. Repeat. No different from the Marty years.

The guy was busting insanely long TD runs last season.

He might have lost 1/6th of a step. This is stupid.

Ya, although Marty grew a pair later on...just not in the playoffs. :banghead:
