I thought I had eliiminated Mizzou earlier.....it means nothing in reality, except perhaps it is a sign of some good Mizzou karma.

Okay, so my friends and I have been having the "SEC Championship or Final 4" debate the last couple of weeks. Now I think it's time for an even tougher question:

If going to the Final 4 meant that we lost to Kansas, who would then go on to win the Championship, whereas losing in the Sweet 16 meant that KU lost to St. Mary's, would you still want the Final 4?

Good lord, man - the losing to Kansas would almost definitely take all the starch out of making it there, wouldn't it? And once they won the title on top of that, it would just be pissing all over our bowl of soggy cornflakes wouldn't it?

Honestly - I think I'd rather just not make the Final 4 than to go to it and lose to Kansas. The hell would never end.

Here is a twist on your question for us Mizzou fans..which would you rather have:

One final four appearance ever...but it is a national championship over Kansas....

or

Losing to KU in the championship game, but Mizzou goes to multiple final fours and does win one national championship during the rest of Frank Haiths tenure, approximately 15-20 years.

As much as I would hate to lose to KU, I would take the latter in a heartbeat.

I concur. I thought they were UNC. I don't like the fact that it has my Wildcats getting bounced on Thursday and if I had to pick one team other than Kentucky to get to New Orleans it would be Mizzou, but as as unpredictable as this tournament always is, I just put that one in a $20 per bracket pool. I almost never do more than one bracket, but figured WTF.

*I think if everything falls right they have a decent shot against Syracuse

I think KSU could be a nightmare for Syracuse. Syracuse has been a horrible rebounding team all year, it is their Achilles heel. I could see the Cats pounding them on the boards and win a low scoring defensive type game.

Wow, that was Kansas? :spock:

Hard not to pick them to win it all, heh...

I had Duke beating Kentucky, and KU beating Duke.

Two things:

1) Devonta Pollard WAS, in fact, on campus today. (DeArmond heard he wasn't from Rivals national guy, but then heard from his own sources that he was).

2) I think Kansas State could give Syracuse a really hard time. They rebound the bad really well, a weakness for the Orange. And the pick-post offensive set is a nightmare for 2-3 zones.

Sounds like his mother was there too.

A final four makes this Mizzou team the greatest in its history....

That's the spirit!

Do you really have nothing better to do all day every day than to emcee a thread about a team you claim not to care about?

Bambi 03-12-2012 08:08 PM

Wow, I got my exact Final Four except I have OSU winning it all but KU will do.

My head says the latter, but my heart says the former.

Good God - leaving the IIX with a national title taken directly from the beak of the buckled bird is just too much to pass up.

I mean let's face it 'ever' is a long damn time; I'll be senile or beyond caring by the time the 3rd championship rolls around if they only show up every 20 years or so. As such, I'm really only missing out on 1.

Then again...I could watch that one with my kid or something, which would be pretty sweet...

Eh, !@#$ it, the world's gonna end in December anyway - gimme my Beaker title.
