Shit, he wasn't even 100 percent last season until the 2nd half.

It doesn't matter.

Regardless, he's still a great running back. He's just a tad slower.

He also has a slighter build than most NFL RBs. People age differently, and he did suffer a major knee injury.

I think he's lost some quickness because he is possibly tired? I dunno but it sucks and it's noticeable.

I think the blocking isn't nearly as good.

Disappointed or not, we get them again, basically for a division title or a stronghold on it at home in two weeks.

Coming in to the year, you couldn't really ask for much more.

The blocking is crap.

This right here. He may have lost a micro-fraction of a step, but the real culprit is shit blocking.

We switch blocking schemes and his number of explosive plays dips. What do ya know?

ShowtimeSBMVP 11-18-2013 12:21 AM

Well Clay was wrong again. Sean Smith was our best corner tonight.

Blocking is crap when it comes to Charles but good for Alex Smith. How does that work?

Pass blocking vs run blocking?

Crazy huh?

I've said it before, but if Charles can't run behind you then you are ****ing useless.

This. keeping a pocket alive is easier than opening lanes.

Titty Meat 11-18-2013 01:21 AM

2 weeks to prepare and this is how the offense plays?

I don't think Charles has lost anything. I think that Alex Smith is killing the running game as much as he's killing the passing game. He's so focused on making safe, short, lateral throws (as in towards the sidelines, not literally backwards...) that defenses have no reason at all to concern themselves with anything deep. So everybody is stacked at the line, and there's no space for anything to open up, in the running game or in the short passing game. And on top of that, virtually all the runs seem to be up the gut. Charles just has nowhere to go. Smith is suffocating the life out of this offense. You can see that in Charles' performance as much as you can see it in Smith's horrendous completion percentage numbers.

Some of that's playcalling, no question. But good quarterbacks elevate the play of the people around them. And I'm not seeing that at all. Quite the opposite in fact.

Sean Smith is so good they decided to let him cover Decker.

Cooper got his ass roasted because of it.
