I read it as just what Dane says, an observation of the players there, and that he was not actually a part of the game, just watching.

That's cool. We definitely read it different ways, and that's fine. I've been at a lot of poker tournaments, and I have never gone to one to just watch the game.

Again, I have no dog in that fight, I was just responding to the part about him saying he had a million dollars.

Again, my bad.

And my apologies to those that aren't as fortunate.

I've been there and have detailed those struggles over the years.

I apologize for being an ass.

It was not my intent to "brag".

An oldie but goodie....

Redrum_69 12-27-2009 10:41 PM

double post, wtf

Hootie 12-27-2009 10:42 PM

actually Milkman...when I read it the first time I figured he drove by the house, knew the guy, knew he was a millionaire, knew he had millionaire friends, decided to turn his car around, three-point turnabout, park in the driveway, ring the doorbell, deliver him a Dane McCloud family Christmas card...and then hit the Taco Bell on the way home and get the #3 with a Large Coke.

But maybe I misinterpreted it.

Not really. I've linked a few in previous thread.

I was fortunate enough to meet the woman that would become my wife just a few years after arriving in Los Angeles.

Hootie 12-27-2009 10:43 PM

oh and he noticed there was a deck of cards at the table, nice cards too...Kem cards to be exact...and just figured his friends were all millionaires too and they were playing poker...so yeah, he was technically at the poker game...but definitely not playing.

That's just how I interpreted it.

You know I've tried to be cool with you.

I guess I'm done with that, Hootie.

And that's the root of the problem.

Don't make a bet you can't, or won't pay up on.

We're all men... have a little sense of honor. If you lose... lose graciously... and pay the bet.

If you win, accept your winnings with honor. There's no need to "rub it in".

As for ridiculous bets... just don't make them.

I agree with this, but I would add that it's pointless to expect someone like ROR/DCS to honor a bet. He's already proven that he'll create a new account to get around a ban. A thread like this is way better as far as vindication goes.

That is why I respect you, I might give you a bad time and pick on you relentlessly at times, but I do respect you for being humble...

Hootie 12-27-2009 10:44 PM

and Lindsey Lohan wasn't there...either...I could definitely tell that part while reading his post...for sure...

Yeah, it's a curse, really.

Sometimes, I really wish I WAS an asshole!

LMAO

I get a lot more info on the Chiefs than I post here. I sometime share that with some posters on here privately. Maybe we can work out a deal. You give me some behind the scenes hollywood stuff I tell ya what I hear about the Cheifs.

You know who would enjoy all this? Raised on Riots. What ever happened to that guy?

Hey I have no issue with you whatsoever but the only reason you disagree with the whole "Priest Holmes bet/Hootie is a welcher" MYTH is because it is me and I am not liked because I don't kiss the asses of the "popular" crew on this board...

If Hamas said the same thing I did about Priest that year everyone would have agreed and defended the **** out of him because it was HIGHLY unlikely Priest was even going to make the team let alone ever play again...

But instead you were too stubborn and kept trying to debate why "million dollar bets" aren't really tongue-in-cheek...

Whatever.
