I think it will be Martinez

RunKC 04-26-2025 12:38 PM

I’d really like Martinez but I swear to God if Veach drafts Smith or Giddens I will cum so hard that my prostate might prolapse

booger 04-26-2025 12:38 PM

Just in case you didn’t know, dawn aponte the lady who works for the league and calls picks giving rogers voice a break, her daughter Madison is in the Chiefs scouting department as an administrative assistant

Does she give a good hummer?

RunKC 04-26-2025 12:41 PM

**** off Ballard

xztop123 04-26-2025 12:42 PM

It seems like everyone runs a 4.5 or slower this year. Combine gave everyone T. rex arms and slow 40 times

Giddens gone.

Don’t forget Brashard Smith.

lcarus 04-26-2025 12:43 PM

I really like Horton too but were good at WR

Dante84 04-26-2025 12:43 PM

Damien Martinez
Brashard Smith
Devin Neal
Montrell Johnson

....

Maybe Ollie Gordon if the above are all gone.

RINGLEADER 04-26-2025 12:44 PM

Can’t really understand what the Bengals are doing. I get trying to improve the line to keep Burrow upright but their secondary might give up 40 ppg. No DB help was pretty crazy.

kcbubb 04-26-2025 12:44 PM

Maybe a guard? Miles Frazier?

ShowtimeSBMVP 04-26-2025 12:45 PM

Mitchell Evans I could see KC taking

Urc Burry 04-26-2025 12:45 PM

Looks like we moved up to 20

kcbubb 04-26-2025 12:45 PM

Montrell Johnson might be available in the 6th and I like him too

The earliest 7th and their 5th rounder.

Sassy Squatch 04-26-2025 12:48 PM

Martinez

Hammock Parties 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

LET'S GOOOOO

RunKC 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

Chiefs trade up! Martinez time?

Sassy Squatch 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

Not a spoiler, a guess.

DJ's left nut 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

Don't care about any of the RBs - just take the most explosive one left in the 7th.

Maybe Smael Mondon here?

BossChief 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

On the clock

xztop123 04-26-2025 12:49 PM

I really like trading up here. The sitting around taking scraps is annoying.

Chiefaholic 04-26-2025 12:50 PM

RunKC 04-26-2025 12:50 PM

Holy shit a LB

PHOG 04-26-2025 12:50 PM

Bassa

Gravedigger 04-26-2025 12:51 PM

Guess we're going UDFA or 7th round selection stretch for a RB this year.

Picking 2 rb a L x a cb in 7 th , did we really need to trade up for a lb?

Tribal Warfare 04-26-2025 12:51 PM

Is this a Toub pick

JPH83 04-26-2025 12:52 PM

Why do we hate RBs? Like we're f**king allergic

Delano 04-26-2025 12:53 PM

Bassa gonna eat, sleep, and shit Brock Bowers.

ForeverChiefs58 04-26-2025 12:53 PM

Replacement for Tranquill next year?

Hate that we didnt grab a worthwhile runningback at all. There are only a couple left worth a shit at this point.

DJ's left nut 04-26-2025 12:53 PM

Looks like they would be thinking of him as Tranquil's replacement

Wisconsin_Chief 04-26-2025 12:53 PM

This team just truly doesn’t give a shit about the RB position. Guess I need to just accept it. Backup LB it is.

Yeah, not digging this personally. RB room is probably the weakest part of our team currently and in this class we should've taken one by now.

Monticore 04-26-2025 12:53 PM

Great year to draft a RB and we do the opposite, I guess we still have picks but , we have zero run threat right now

Urc Burry 04-26-2025 12:54 PM

Yep. I know nothing of him. Seems like a need, and good value. Maybe a potential Tranquill replacement.

I just can’t believe we’re passing on all of the rb’s.

Still could pair our 7ths to move up for one. But not giving my hopes up

pugsnotdrugs19 04-26-2025 12:54 PM

Six years in, seems like they just know every little role they need to have filled in order for Spags’ D to thrive and they are plugging away.

No reason for it not to be another top-10 defense this year, yards and points. You can’t poke a hole at it.

TomBarndtsTwin 04-26-2025 12:55 PM

Bassa is a GREAT pick here.

Athletic LB, elite in coverage, was a converted Safety.

One of my wants if Chiefs went LB.

Maybe we’re not taking a RB in this draft? Seems a little precarious.

KC Hawks 04-26-2025 12:55 PM

So we're really banking on Elijah Mitchell as our RB upgrade?

xztop123 04-26-2025 12:55 PM

Rumor is that we’re bringing In the fastest ping pong player from Europe to try out at running back in tc

Yep. We don't care about them, we'll never use them. Frustrating but we have to get rid of the thought of any commitment to a true threat in the running game.

Middle of the field was one of the only weaknesses on defense and this guy can live in that area.

Sassy Squatch 04-26-2025 12:56 PM

Especially after Reid and Veach acknowledged the lack of being able to lean on the running game as a real problem, not coming away with one 5 rounds in is a choice.

That’s a little much. Pacheco will return to pre-injury form, and Hunt will come into the season in much better football shape than last season. Mitchell could be fun if healthy also.

Let’s see what they tack on in the 7th.

xztop123 04-26-2025 12:56 PM

I think milroe would be the best runner on the team day 1

If we wait until the 7th for a linebacker, I’d take a swing on Kain Medrano.

He sucks at football, but he’s super athletic. Maybe you can coach him up.

Had a feeling about Bassa. I like that pick.

They will draft someone like Ollie Gordon and people will chill out.

Wisconsin_Chief 04-26-2025 12:58 PM

I just can’t fathom why this team refuses to give Mahomes the absolute gift that a decent running game would bring him. It’s a little ridiculous at this point. CEH has clearly scarred them for life.

I’m not sure anything left offered any upgrades. They could also add a free agent if they think they need another body. It all comes down to health. Can Pacheco and Mitchell stay healthy. Dobbins is still out there as a free agent, so is Chubb.

I like or accept all picks in isolation, but not getting a RB, with what we have, is pretty poor. Guess there's time but what's going to be left, realistically?

xztop123 04-26-2025 12:59 PM

It’s funny cuz in hs the best athlete typically plays running back. But financially it’s a pretty horrible choice given the current state of nfl dynamics.

I don't understand their thinking honestly. A great running game unlocks this offense but right now we have the worst RB room in the NFL.

You also can't have Mahomes continually be your leading rusher. I don't get it.

Rainbarrel 04-26-2025 01:00 PM

UDFA RBs must be as thick as ticks

I think the reason we're passing on RB now is that there's just not a lot of separation between them.

And a lot have come off so there are likely fewer teams still inclined to take one.

Think of it like taking a TE in fantasy football. You can take one of the top 3 in the first 5 rounds. Or take one from 4-8 in the next 4-5 rounds. Then you might as well just wait until the last round to grab another. Nobody else is taking one and there's not much of a difference either way.

Yeah, a deep draft for RBs you'd expect them to take someone.

Don't teams usually just draft the best player available in these later rounds?

We need a pass catcher from backfield. Pacheco is a fine running back when healthy. Kareem hunt should really not even suit up if we were in even 30% as good shape as Ohio state was at the position

Why would you say that? Because they're not important to our offense or because the ones we currently have are good enough?

Obviously we do. We got hunt of the street last year

And we had the best interior line in the league and the worst yard per carry

You're not getting a 'great running game' by taking the pick of what's left. You're looking at a slew of JAGs here, IMO.

And the JAG you get in the 7th is almost certainly gonna be no worse than the one you take here.

Now you could argue that's the case at LB as well but the fact that they traded up to get Bassa says they clearly think otherwise.

Time will tell if they're right, but I think that's their reasoning.

ForeverChiefs58 04-26-2025 01:03 PM

Jeantry is already 2nd highest paid at position, and hasn’t even played yet.

Highest paid NFL RBs

Here are the top-10 highest-paid running backs based on total guaranteed value, according to OverTheCap:

Saquon Barkley, Eagles: $36 million
Ashton Jeanty, Raiders: $32 million
Jonathan Taylor, Colts: $26.5 million
Christian McCaffrey, 49ers: $24 million
Alvin Kamara, Saints: $22.23 million
Bijan Robinson, Falcons: $21.95 million
Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions: $17.84 million
Rhamondre Stevenson, Patriots: $17.11 million
Chuba Hubbard, Panthers: $16.55 million
D'Andre Swift, Bears: $15.3 million

We had the best RB room we have had since 2018 last year. It revolutionized our offensive potential and helped us move the chains sooo many times vs previous years. Problem is Mahomes had the worst year he ever had because Kelce wasn't as good.

Our run game sucks and our QB shouldn't be our leading rusher.
