Brian Sabean is considered by most hardcore baseball writers/fans to be the worst GM in major league baseball.

He's had great luck with talent in the first round (Lincecum, Posey, Cain), which covers for some of that. But his MLB-level deals are routinely awful.

This is the guy who trade Liriano, Joe Nathan and another piece for AJ Pierzynski.

I think the biggest think Melky did is give people some prespective on how the Yankees do things. I willing to bet there was some shit that he was like "Thats something a Yankee would never do"

I love this trade, if Sanchez can get his control issues sorted out he can be a legit 2 and possibly a #1 type guy.
