And I think you are being a little too critical of his feet. He doesn't have happy feet. He's moving them to keep them under his shoulders. Yes, he could plant better, but he does quickly plant and throw a lot and that's the reason for his movement. It's also a reason for his accute pocket awareness and quick mobility in the pocket. It's also a reason for his accuracy levels as he's actually planting, albeit very quickly, and throwing.

If you watch Geno, he's got an insanely fast release and his feet and planting are geared towards that. He's not just slinging the ball off his front foot on the move a la Brett Favre.

If you want to see "happy feet" from a high level NFL QB prospect, go watch Mark Sanchez at USC. That's happy feet. Geno doesn't have happy feet.

The one mechanical flaw is that his feet are too wide when he makes his throws.

Shorten that up, and you will see a QB that throws lasers.

And his arm strength is nothing to sneeze at already.

Brady and Manning may be the two most un-athletic QB's in the league, but they've got two of the quickest releases I've ever seen.

Geno has that. The ball absolutely bursts off his hand. Goes from zero to receiver as quick as I've ever seen at the college level. The NFL is all about speed. Geno has minimal windup and the ball immediately leaves his hand at a high apex with amazing controlled velocity. Honestly, it's the best I can remember from a college quarterback in the past 15 or 20 years.

You don't remember Marino very well

Quick release is probably the most underrated aspect of QB scouting.

Seems like everyone focuses too much on arm strength, accuracy and mobility.

Quick release vs slow release = INT vs incompletion vs completion in a lot of cases.

It's always been part of the reason Cassel sucks.

He has an average arm combined with below average accuracy combined with a slow release.

Just a pathetic ****er.

I agree.

That's why I'd rather have him than Glennon, Wilson, or anybody else for that matter.

And it's not that I believe Geno is a total project. Cause the #1 overall pick should never be a project. But I think if you plugged him into the NFL right now, he'd be average. Give him the right system, and coach to work with him, and I think he'd be great.

If we draft him, and he's NFL average in year one, we're an 10-6 playoff team right out of the gate.

He's got a beautiful throwing motion and release. Get him an NFL qb coach to tighten up the footwork and I truly believe he will be an elite level NFL qb. IMO he would be a great face of the franchise and would help us forget this recent shit fest also known as the Pioli era.

Not to mention he wants to recreate the Tom Brady draft pick by picking someone "under the radar" just to build up his gigantic ego even more.

I've said it before and I'll say it again:

The Patriot Way is a MYTH.

Of course it's a myth. The "patriot" way consisted of lucking into a hof qb late in the draft.

The "way" consists of a great QB and a great HC. Which, of course, has nevar been seen in the NFL prior...

Which points out Pioli's utter failure as he has not provided the chiefs with either.

Just curious, who would you compare these QB's to in the pro's?

I think Tyler Wilson reminds me a lot of Christian Ponder in his technique and has a lot of toughness like Favre.

I think that Geno reminds me of Aaron Rodgers game. The quick release, accurate deepball, above average pocket presence.

It pisses me off when people say he is Jason Campbell. That's an insult if I've ever seen one.
