ChiefsPlanet - NFL Draft Geno Smith fans roll call

Oh. My. God.

When I first started this thread, I thought that Kansas City would be their normal pants-shitting selves and cobble together a 6-10/7-9 record. I had dreams that Geno Smith would still be available when we picked, but I kept emotions reserved.

It wasn't until we put together this stupendous losing streak that my hopes were restored. And now after losing to the ****ing Raiders, there is nothing that stands in our way of the #1 pick and Geno Smith in a Chiefs uniform.

-Pioli will be gone.

-Indy needs to make up playoffs ground after their loss today

-Denver will beat us just because.

We are going to ****ing draft Geno Smith, guys.

Words can't... they can't describe...

It truly is a remarkable feeling. KNOWING that Peeholi is toast, and KNOWING that Geno is coming.

This is the greatest day in franchise history since the Chiefs won the Super Bowl.

We've NEVER been in this situation before. So no, we don't know how these things tend to turn out.

I did that "It's the Chiefs" worrying garbage for this Raiders game. Look how that one turned out.

We're in the clear. My only worry is that Clark fires Pioli and Crennel tomorrow, and that Denver rests everybody. The Chiefs play up for the replacement coach ala Crennel last year and win that as Jacksonville loses out.

That's our only hurdle. This team ain't winning shit with the current regime in place.

The year we were in a position to draft Matt Ryan, and lost a coin toss. Or the year we finish with the 3rd pick, we pass.

The Patriots 15 years ago were an incredibly well-rounded team. They would have won or gotten to a Super Bowl with a good QB not named Tom Brady. They recently switched to a 4-3 and are becoming a team that can win even without Brady. Hell, they went 11-5 with Matt ****ing Cassel as their QB.

Right now, I despise the Patriots and everything that ****ed us over in trying to install the "Chiefs Way." But let's not be ridiculous here. The Patriots' success is built around the head coach and QB, but they've built some excellent teams over the years. There's nothing mythical about that.
