I think Kershaw is a pipe-dream at this point. The only reason people started talking about it is because if McCourt would have held on to the team with crippled finances, they may have been vulnerable to an economic raid, but now that he is selling the Dodgers, they will just give him arbitration, and MLB will kick in money if necessary because the new owner, who will be very rich, will obviously want to keep him.

You would give Myers and whoever else for Kershaw though right? Maybe Felix

The Dodgers still have the talent to possibly compete in the NL West. King Felix might be available only because the Mariners obviously will not, and the smart move for them could be to blow it up and rebuild. |

I realize that everyone has been waiting patiently for my take on this trade. To end all worry, I'll keep it short and say that this was an outstanding deal by DM.

I got a text mid-day from my buddy about this. Damn it gave me some energy to get through the rest of the day! Love this trade!
In reference to Melky...buy low, sell high is how I feel. |
Phenomenal trade. We gain defense, lose a bit of offense, but gain a good starting pitcher with a lot of upside. Hell yeah.

Probably nto a bad trade. As long as Melky doesn't go all world again, Cain doesn't stink up the joint and this pitcher does better than Chen did.

I'm pretty excited about this deal too. Hopefully if he blows up we have a chance at resigning him...
