How generous of you. Bet Self told the committee to go ahead and drop KU. That down year business will come in handy with an early exit won't it?

Frank Haith, Bill Self, John Calipari, and Jim Boeheim have been named finalists for the Naismith National Coach of the Year.

I think that any of the first three would be good choices (without trying to get in the midst of a huge pissing contest).
Boehiem notsomuch, especially with the Melo ruling

eazyb81 03-15-2012 02:06 PM

Yeah Boeheim has no shot, and Calipari probably has to win it all.

Stupid Kansas fans, not expecting regular season, conference, and NCAA tournament titles every year. They really should be more arrogant.

Think Self's got the edge here. He's never won it and has done an amazing job here with what he lost the year before.

Haith may very well be a great coach but these aren't his players so it would be good to see him go through a couple of cycles first.

On a related note, Syracuse is playing like crap in the first half. Down by 5 to 16 seed shooting under 42% (10% from 3).

I'm truly shocked Fred Hoiberg didn't make the cut. Apparently the Naithsmith committee didn't poll the Big 12 coaches for their opinion.

C'mon BYU! You can do it!

Missouri is just as likely to have an early exit as anybody else (in fact, probably more so considering their reliance on the 3 ball). That's the nature of this crapshoot. So be prepared.

Marquette up by 15 now with two minutes left. Maybe Murray State can upset them.

No upsets so far today...although Syracuse is only up by two...that would be awesome if they got upset and made history.

KC_Connection 03-15-2012 03:13 PM

I had KSU beating Syracuse. Feeling more optimistic about that right now.

Trevo_410 03-15-2012 03:17 PM

no really big upsets today so far, surprised...

5/5

stonedstooge 03-15-2012 03:37 PM

Syracuse gets bailed out by the officials.
