Who the **** said that he was going there to save his season? The Bears have already stated that Hanie is there starter. Orton would be going there to collect a paycheck and a chance at a SB ring.

claim Orton
cut cassel(after IR)
develop Stanzi
grab QB in draft if a chance pops up

If they get Orton, grabbing a QB in the draft is no longer an option. It's either-or.

Why? Orton is a free agent at the end of the year.

So he'd rather go sit on a bench and collect a ring than try to prove he can still play and secure his future? Got it.

And he couldn't beat out a guy who can't throw a football.

I have no interest in the Chiefs getting Orton other than claiming him and seeing if we can flip him for a draft pick.

So then what would be the point? Sign a guy for the fun of it?

I would think if he's a serious player he would want the opportunity to reverse this very prevalent POV.

lol wat.

he'd be a FA at the end of the year, we would be in no position to trade him. Flipping him for a draft pick would require us to resign him.

Ummm, I dunno. Maybe to pick up an actual QB who's ready to play at the NFL level to finish off the season with dignity? Maybe the draft pick you'd get after Orton leaves?

You can't be serious in thinking that the Chiefs are happy with 4 wins... "We got our 4, time to pack it up."
