I'm okay with Price. It makes sense for the reasons you listed. We can afford both Price and Hayward without killing us on payroll in the future.

Holliday comes off the books after next year, Peralta after 2017 (and Molina too, likely).

That's effectively $40 million right there, not counting inflation of the payroll

Plus $115 million more yearly in the cable contract starting in 2017.

Local Sports talk radio shows outside of drive time are no big deal. They are not making any money. A lot of radio shows buy their time and have to sell their own ads.

Yeah, but I'm not sure of anyone dying to hear his opinion on anything.

Come from behind 3 times. Down to the last strike in the 9th and 11th innings. Still unbelievable that we won that game and series.

Interesting that we had this exact same conversation in the other Cards thread:

http://www.vivaelbirdos.com/st-louis...les-tim-cooney

Gonzales is a hell of a lot more likely to be a 4th starter than a top of the rotation guy. He's a slightly higher ceiling version of Tim Cooney.

DJ,

I think most of us knew when OT died, we were going to have to trade a major player to fill that slot. I think most fans this off season think we need to improve the offense. Nothing in the minors for next year so we have to make a trade or buy a FA.

You think they will lay out the big bucks for Price? and pay Hayward?

Theory goes on twitter that they would then trade pitching and "someone" in the line up for a big bat at 3B/1B. Basically spend some of that new cable money to bolster pitching and keep Hayward and then upgrade the offense too.

We extended a QO to Lackey, which is ****ing badass.

The best part of that is we can potentially sign a big name free agent and only drop a few spots in the draft, assuming he doesn't take the offer.

They are speculating who will sign him and for how much. They also have us giving Davis 6/144, which will never happen.

Reyes pulled out of the AFL. Was scheduled to pitch in a nationally televised game tomorrow.
