Ugh! Chiefs football is like partisan politics with these guys. Just garbage

Upgrade him. Be glad to do it. The first round of the draft isn't the place, though.

Want to bring in a guy like Matt Light? Fine. Albert to LG? And then Lilja goes where? Who is the RT? Albert?

If you're going to talk shit, fine, but at least have some semblance of a clue.
I clearly don't think that Albert is problem #1 on the line, but I'm not running around singing his praises either. I mentioned earlier today that I'd like to see him at a lighter weight, but he's far from the focus of any of my posts.

This.

Well, and the rest of it.

I do, actually, but I think it's more about finding 53 players who fit into a certain team concept than it is about finding 53 ivy league boy scouts.

Agreed, and I also don't think "the right 53" and talent are mutually exclusive.

Long offseason, and some people figure free agency should have been something like a fireworks display, with everything firing off in rapid succession.

That would have been fun, but I think Chief fans know better. That said, I expected more than one UFA signing at this point.

The "Right 53" is so rhetorically empty that it's completely unpalatable to me. We need a "complete football team," right? Basically the same thing, no?

This is the rhetorical equivalent of Pioli telling us in his presser the other day that "it takes two parties to reach a deal."

No mother****ing shit. Quit wasting our time. If the team needs empty catch-phrases like the "Right 53" to be successful, please help us.

The catch-phrase that I prefer?: "It's about leading the league in ****ing wins."

Sounds like medical issues could be holding up #Raiders deal with Jared Gaither. He was at club headquarters Friday.

That needs to be on a sign somewhere in the locker room.

The team doesn't need it. Who cares what phrasing he uses? Why does it matter? Do we not believe at this point that he's working to lead the league in wins? I think some of the catch phrases he used was simply to communicate that we needed to bring in some players at the beginning of his regime that would help to create a culture of winning (perhaps another cliche you won't like :) ). Hard workers, film study guys, etc. There's value in that IMO. However, when it's all said and done, you have to bring in talent. On that I'm sure we can all agree.

I'm assuming it's wallpaper on the walls of Rex Ryan's office. :thumb:

I know you know how to read, but you seem to miss this every time it's posted.

No one - at least no one sensible - is asking for Pioli to go out and grab 10 Tier A FA's.

But we're $40M under the cap. We have 17 roster spots available. We're in the bottom quarter in UDFA signings. We've done nothing to address the same holes we've had on this roster since Pioli took over. And in the past 3 days, we've managed to create more holes than we had on Monday.

I don't think filling glaring holes with B/C Tier FA's is too much to ask of an accomplished GM like Pioli.

Winning cultures and 'right' locker rooms absolutely do matter.
