Vargas to start Saturday's game. He'll be limited to 45 pitches or three innings. Gee will be the first guy out of the pen.

It has been great to see the starting pitchers decide the season was over. Have those F sticks even been trying lately. Come on man.

Just a weird thing. And a nice anecdote to why run differential is something you have to look at in context with the Royals. Yeah, the run differential of -37 says they've far outplayed their expected record. But getting blitzed by two bad teams from the AL West (worse than they did against the best team in that division) is pretty random. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yeah. And while the Royals online verse likes to freak out about payroll and how there's no room under the current payroll to plug holes in 2017, I look at a move like bringing up Jason Vargas for this season - a move that voids the $6 million insurance payment on him in a season in which they have no chance and he can't make a difference - and think that Glass is probably going to green light another payroll increase, at least for 2017. Ah, I missed that. That makes sense, then. Still won't be surprised if the payroll is increased by a large amount again, into the 140s. Last shot at true contention with this group, super cheap players slated for several spots moving forward. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Royals finished 10-24 against the AL West. That is why we aren't in the playoff hunt.
Indians, White Sox, and Twins all have winning records against the AL West. Detroit is at .500. If we were even .500 with the AL West, tied for the Wild card spot right now. |
