Suppan was outstanding that entire postseason--and he's an example of an extremely underrated player throughout the majority of his career--, and Weaver actually performed to his talent level.

And Wainwright made that '06 pen look pretty ****ing decent.

Suppan got the most out of his talent, that's for sure, but his career peripherals (4.96 K/9, 3.07 BB/9, 1.19 HR/9) aren't pretty. At least he generally kept the ball on the ground, though.

Jeff Weaver was a complete shitbag outside of his early Detroit years.

We lost a ****ton of games early in the year b/c TLR kept trotting out Ryan Franklin and Miguel Batista

Pretty much just resign Punto and Furcal, get rid of Theriot and Skip can go(though, I think it would be okay if he's back, as long as he isn't getting a shit load of starts).

Never had a chance to string together a run of ABs in the bigs. He may be a AAAA player, but he probably should play a more vital utility role.

If you are able to see, on a ball hit to first, that the pitcher is not covering and the 1B will have to try to tag you, then sliding will make you harder to tag.

Beyond that, you should almost always slide feet first instead of head-first because the couple microseconds aren't worth an injury, but if its the playoffs, then slide head first all day.

The bullpen wasn't bad. Just guys being used in situations where they shouldn't have been.
