Two-fold process:

Once he started putting guys away with two strikes, he stopped getting the crazy amounts of foul balls. And more guys started swinging early in counts at pitches in the zone, to try and stay away from the late counts and put away pitches.

I honestly don't have the data, but would be interested to see pitch counts for low K guys vs high K guys. Surely it's out there. I'd bet anything it is "that simple"

Right. Compare Cuthbert to other 3Bs in the league. TONS OF AWESOME 3B. And he's one of the worst defensive 3B in baseball. His potential is there, and I'm encouraged by his bat, but it's legit.
