Jimmy Graham is a great player, but he also has a great great QB throwing him the ball. Same with Gronk and Hernandez.

This is the right move. You need to retain some consistency. Blowing it all up and starting over every couple of years just gets you decades of mediocrity.

It's crucial, though, that Romeo hires some young promising assistants so that one can succeed him in a few years.

All of this.

Seems he was projected a late 2nd rounder by the Sporting News so I'll give you that. Still stupid to trade up for a tight end, much less one with an injury history.

I agree.

Moeaki wasn't reach, and his overall skillset is better than Graham's was.

He was a risky pick, though, given his injury history.

That's not bad from a second rounder.

He is basically a smaller version of Darren Sproles that totally came alive once Orton was the quarterback.

Teams have to respect your ability to attack past 10 yards for a guy like him to be really productive.

Anyone that wants to disagree with that should look at Darren Sproles stats and averages through his first two years and compare them to Dexters.

I would rather have drafted Cody or Clausen at that pick, but the direction we went hasn't pissed me off as badly as it has some others here.

Darren Sproles was a 4th round pick.

You can get those kind of versatile players later in the draft, as Sproles perfectly illustrates.

And the fact is, they drafted McCluster ro convert him to WR.

How'd that work out?

That's a reach.

it was a risk ... but IF moeaki can stay healthy he is a talent

nothing to get pissed about anyway

like i said, Pioli has had his share of screw ups ... but lets not get carried away.

Romeo Crennel is a dreadful head coach.

Based on what, his stint in a town where NOBODY can get it right? Not Holmgren, not Belichick, Not Palmer or Davis, Shurmur & Robiskie? nope.

NO ONE succeeds there because they have probably the worst owner in the NFL, its a cursed city.

O.city 01-08-2012 02:35 PM

I will say that with Orton as qb, McCluster did look tolerable at wr.

Milkman has said it, Hamas has said it, Everyone has said it.

A quarterback makes all these offensive players look really good. It's a must that we get one that can make them look good.

NOthing else really matters. Whatever pieces we add don't matter.

It's hard to judge because of the Cassel factor.

Look at what he did with Orton this year as opposed to his last two years with Cassel and Palko.

It's like night and day.

If you can't stretch a defense, the underneath stuff will eventually be taken away and that's where Dexter worked.

I think he can be a 500/500 5-8tds per year type weapon with a good quarterback and a coaching staff that knows how to use him.

and in the very same game with the very same QB, DMC disappeared and turned to shit when the playcalling became pussified.

Let's not underestimate the need for a good OC.

Some people say the playcalling changed because of the lost of Bowe. Whatever ... it still means that other things matter besides QB.

playcalling matter
receiving options matter
Oline matters (look at how shitty Matt Ryan looks)

Matt Ryan looks shitty because he's a shitty play off QB.

Tom Coughlin, from my understanding, is a huge prick of a coach and he just won another playoff game.

He's not a "players'" coach.

Not saying, just saying.

Charlie Casserly Just said it is not a done deal.
