Peterson hasn't learned anything from our government...pay someone to inflict harm and destroy the receipts. That's just lazy millionaire parenting right there..

There is no limit to what some people will accept as 'discipline' when it comes to violence towards children.

This is america. We condemn violence against women, but we champion violence against 4 year olds.

Is that just a Kansas/Missouri thing or what? Yes, even in the context of the times that people lived in as kids compared to now.

My parents weren't lazy enough to resort to spanking or hitting me. That was in the 80's.

Some people I know seem to be so in love with the very idea of hitting kids. They see a misbehaving kid and in their mind they instantly say 'well, if only that parent beat them they'd behave" in spite of there being no demonstrable evidence of truth to such a statement. They go around making assumptions that validate their confirmation bias.

Discipline is good. Spanking is the laziest form of discipline. It's lazy parenting.

You cite outdated thinking. The new thought process is "well, if only that parent had stripped them butt naked and beat them with a stick in the scrotum and inner thighs, they would behave"

Come on, WW. Get with the times.

Most people I talk to think those pictures are acceptable discipline for a 4 year old child.

I can't even get that right in my mind. It makes no sense. Is that how a real man handles children?

My dad was beat like that by my grandfather. Switches and rubber hoses. He says the switches were even worse than the hose, and his dad would beat him from the back of his head to his heels.

He always told me that was child abuse, no matter what anyone says. He resented his dad until the day the old bastard died.

So, does it look like he's going to be suspended for the season?

What do you guys think?

... and my post isn't just towards AP- it's to anyone who thinks this sort of behavior is okay because goddangit, I'm a beer drinking, bacon eating American and my parents did it, and their parents did it, and so on and so forth.

Man, I was just about to say this after reading the first few pages of the thread. How does the fact that your parents/grandparents did it make it okay? It just means your parents/grandparents were scumbags, just like Adrian Peterson is.

Also, those of you who are concerned about fantasy football need to grow up a little bit. We're talking about someone who has a FELONY INDICTMENT for beating a 4-year-old child. Shut up about your pretend football game. Losers.

If he came home with 2 D's and an F, that's 3 fingers (and this was a big dude). Does that sound hideous and disgusting? Absolutely. Did the kid ever get anything worse than a C after this rule was implemented? Not a chance.

I'm not saying it's morally right or wrong, but does it make the child because of it? Think about that for a second.

Not sure if serious? If so, DIAF.

In the poetic words of Hawk Harrelson

"He gone!"

I hope so. They made the right decision to get Rice out of the league this season, and they need to do it with Peterson, too.

What did your buddy shove up your ass when you disagreed with him?
