No.

Again, which non-QBs do you see that are remotely worth the top 5 pick?

Great couple of stops!

Hammock Parties 11-17-2012 06:54 PM

Please.

Any old noodle arm can chuck the ball 50 yards with that much arc on it.

Matt Cassel could do that. He might overthrow it, but he could put arc on a 50-yard pass.

There wasn't that much arc. Matt couldn't do that. He certainly wouldn't hit the receiver in stride. I am not really a Barkley fan, but you don't have to make him out to be a giant turd to argue that Geno is the right selection.

If I had to put money on it I would say Tyler Wilson will be the #1 QB. I think there's so many bad teams that just drafted QB's one will trade back and a team will grab either Geno Smith or Barkley.

well ... that makes be feel better. #notreally

what a difference a year makes ... last year's #2 pick worth a bajillion times more than this year's is going to be worth.

Hammock Parties 11-17-2012 06:57 PM

The ball left the ****ing frame. It was a freaking balloon ball. Get real.

Barkley is a 2nd round talent.

seamonster 11-17-2012 06:57 PM

Geno has accuracy, I just don't like the staredown interception and cop out on third down in the red zone.

I only brought it up to diffuse your point that these QBs should go between 8-15.

There are enough teams that need QBs and enough quality QBs to see three of them go in the top 6 or so this year.

That ball went 60 in the air, and I've never seen Cassel throw one that far.

Balls leave the screen on certain throws from all QBs. I don't think he has a great arm and I am not really a fan, but you try to hard to make all your arguments be so black and white when just your original point was fine.

AussieChiefsFan 11-17-2012 07:00 PM

Lets stop comparing our possible future QBS to Cassel

RealSNR 11-17-2012 07:00 PM

I hope Landry Jones goes to a team like Oakland. Then they can know the pain that we feel from Matt Cassel.

Hammock Parties 11-17-2012 07:01 PM

The point is using that GIF as some kind of evidence that Barkley has a good arm is silly.

He has a Trent Green arm at best.

Leaps.

Barkley would have 100% completion in this game right now if he were Oklahoma's QB.

Jones will be taken in the 3rd round I imagine. He shouldn't, though. He should go in the 4th at the earliest.

Barkley will go in the top 5, and possibly at the #1 overall spot.

Getting bailed out on a heinous throw and forcing the reciever to come out of the endzone on a curl isn't helping smith, but I can see pioli still drafting a medicore quarterback to placate a fanbase and play the victim.

No, it's fine. He hasn't looked dominant, but you really have to consider what he's got to work with and what he's facing. I've made this point 1000 times this year, but here it is again.

Ben Roethlisberger for Miami, OH put up INSANE stats in his weak conference. Whenever he played a tough opponent outside of the conference, he got crushed.

Geno's almost in the same position. He's got a Miami, OH offensive line and defense going up against a lot of tough competition. But he's not getting crushed. He's doing a good job maintaining order as his team is in a tough transition year.

Geno probably has 3 or 4 offensive weapons that are going to play in the NFL.

Austin might go in the 1st round pick if he was bigger

Same can be said about Barkley bud beside the RB.

Mr. Laz 11-17-2012 07:27 PM

so much so that i just don't trust the evaluations about him

He could turn to complete shit once he gets to the NFL where the talent level is so close.

And he's doing a good job using that talent when he goes up against superior teams with very good defenses.

He's not getting blown out with 4 INTs like Roethlisberger did. He's putting up averageish stats and points against them. Against Ok State and TCU, those were very winnable games that he could have had.
