Since his ERA is over 5, he might not get a better offer on the free agent market.

He was horrible. No way he comes back.

Don't forget that Boulder has an extremely affordable public transit partnership with Denver. For like $8, you can get between cities, and believe it runs 24 hours.

Raw attendance is a dumb thing to look at. Percent of capacity and attendance compared to market size are both much more telling, and KC is top 10 to top 5 market in both.

Denver's metro area is 2.8 million, not 2.6. Add in the massive cities that are within an hour away (Colorado Springs, Boulder), and that number balloons to 4.2 million.

OH NO GUYS. A metro with 33% more people and has a stadium in a perfect downtown area is barely outpacing our attendance. SAD!

Plenty of links say 2.6M. To wit:
http://denver.cbslocal.com/2016/03/0...-world-report/

But that's splitting hairs. Who gives a shit if it's 2.8m? Who ****ing cares? And who cares if they have some nearby population centers either - KC has 250k in Topeka, 125k in St Joe, and 100k in Lawrence all within an hour of The K.

Quit making excuses. Denver has great sports fans, everyone in the world knows it, they support 4 pro teams, and they're better than we are with attendance. Why dispute facts?

"Pleasing climate"?

LMAO Lemme know when the overall area comes close to 4.2 million. The area has a much bigger population, why dispute facts?

Oh, and pro tip: I live in the Springs, and just did work in the city where I analyzed the population of the front range. It's clear from your posts that you don't have a true understanding of the area's population.

But hey, troll away PB.

Prison Bitch 09-23-2016 09:30 AM

Most sports teams get only 5-10% of their attendance from outside their metro. The Royals themselves did a survey ~2000 and came up with 7%. (And we are supposedly a "regional franchise").

So attendance isn't driven much by Topeka or Col Springs. Nearly everyone you'd survey at Coors Field is from the Denver area.

I'm not really going to take data too seriously if it was taken during the Clinton Era. But even if it is true, Denver has a significantly larger metro than KC (33%) and has a stadium in a centrally located area in the city.

In the end, this take is pretty nonsensical. But it's what you do, you troll heavily and get me and others to devote way too much time responding to your takes.

Trolling like this isn't for you. You should probably stick to trying to ruin users livelihoods by falsifying reviews on their Facebook pages.

Billay is just a ****ing reerun with a keyboard...

Yeah, PB gets a little heavy with his doomsday narratives about the Royals (The Greinke Trade was DM's worst trade ever, Cain sucks, Esky Sucks, Hos Sucks, Moose Sucks, Gordo Sucks. Attendance will be stuck at 20K forever, Attendance is embarrassing for a pennant winner, attendance is embarrassing because we average fewer fans than a much higher metro. TV ratings suck, etc etc)

But at the same token, the dude has provided money takes over the years. It's clear he's a fan with a strange way to show his devotion to the team. He does the same thing with KUBball.

But PB can add a lot to the conversation. His optimistic takes on 2017 have been a nice change of pace.
