Where is Gettleman when you need him?

Oh, right, building the Panthers as playoff contenders.

We will trade you a bust to be named later for your next draft pick, deal?

'Hamas' Jenkins 04-27-2013 10:57 AM

The Rams just keeping making solid, common sense picks. Great draft.

the Talking Can 04-27-2013 10:57 AM

Tyler Wilson still sucks.

ILChief 04-27-2013 10:57 AM

No QBs worth taking now. maybe the guy from Duke in the late 6th/7th. May as well pick O/D Line Depth from here on out.

Dante84 04-27-2013 10:57 AM

Matt Scott
Barner

on my wish list

I love that pick.

He has Belcher's attitude but with more size and strength...and less murder. Johnson plays with a ferocious edge and fire that we just don't have on our defense. I love the attitude he'll bring.

He's not going to be an elite coverage backer, but the Ted doesn't need to be; that's not his primary role. As a run-support ILB, he's among the very best in the draft and he's going to be good enough in coverage to keep from being a complete mis-match and liability.

I'd have preferred Kevin Reddick because I want some interior pass-rushing ability and we're clearly not getting it from our down lineman. But if that's not how they envision using the Ted backer, then Johnson is a damn near ideal fit.

Yup. How awesome would it be to have 4 pro-bowl linebackers? It is a possibility in a couple years if Nico pays attention. The guys around him will make him look good even when he struggles. We've got a serious LB corps.

Tyler Wilson went to Oakland while I was in the bathroom?
FML.

NFL.com on Landry

STRENGTHS Prototypical pocket passer with NFL size. Extremely productive. Can stretch the field with his arm and shows good zip on passes to all parts of the field when his feet are set. Quick release makes him very effective in the short to intermediate passing game. Challenging throws in every start, whether threading the ball versus cover-two or connecting on a back-shoulder pattern.

WEAKNESSES Really struggles when under duress. Feels pressure when it isn't there. Not an elite athlete, takes time to get to hand-off spot from under center. Can move out of the pocket to escape pressure, but is usually caught up in traffic and is brought down too easily in the backfield. Confidence waxes and wanes throughout the game and season. Ball comes out of his hand poorly at times, floating across or down the field. Downfield accuracy is erratic, missing open receivers on the run; also misfires on out routes too often. Inconsistent on his touch on fades or throws over the top of defenders. Looks to the sidelines for pre-snap adjustments, looks to be confused by complex defensive looks.

NFL COMPARISON Matt Cassel

BOTTOM LINE The NFL-sized pocket passer can be decisive and flashes the accuracy to pick apart defenses at the next level. However, his tendency to get rattled under pressure is a major issue. Also, when things start to go downhill, he lacks a short memory; his confidence is shaken. He is also inconsistent in his reads and decision making.

Well, at least he will suck since he went to Oakland

I also think Schwenke(C) was overlooked. He had an excellent combine and I like his tape.
