As long as I'm posting pictures, here's the HK with the Viridian laser and the drop holster I got for it (I don't attach the leg straps unless I'm actually using them for storage/space considerations).

Me like. But I hate the price tag http://www.valkyriearmament.com/ |
I couldn't resist and bought a 35 whelen. Got Talley rings, reloading dies, brass and bullets as a package deal. It's a 30-06 bored out to 0.358" if you're not familiar with it though most are. Never been fired and has had trigger adjusted to a crisp 3lbs. I look forward to playing with it.

Upgrade complete...... for now.
New components include the quad, both grips, and a cheesy red laser that I added for shits and giggles. It blocks the sight a bit, but I've been wanting to get a riser for that anyway, so now I have an excuse. I love the feel of the rifle now that I have the grips installed. Makes a big difference. And it was amazingly easy to remove the old quad once I had the right tool. Might get a new stock at some point, too. Why not? :D |
Nice job. It looks kickass.

Hope you love your H&K as much as I love mine. :thumb: |

Thanks. I'm still tinkering - I mounted the laser on the side so I can activate it with my thumb now without removing my left hand from the forward grip - with the trigger I can activate the laser and the light at the same time. Also no longer interferes with the optical sight. I think that's about all I can do for now, but I'm pretty happy with the results.
And yes, I love the HK. :thumb: EDIT - here's a pic the new configuration. |
That's really ****ing cool Fraz...

Okay, so I stopped by a local gun shop this afternoon to see what they had and this Sig caught my eye - http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProdu...rol-rifle.aspx . They had it for $1157 and said there's a little play in that price if I can pay cash...so I'm guessing $1100, probably. Any of you have experience with Sigs? I really liked the look of it and it already has the quad rail. Thoughts? Is it worth that?
They also had a kit for a Rock River Arms AR15 for $789 where you get to choose out of 3 uppers, a couple different stocks. |

for $1100.00 you can get a top of the line Colt |
Flew back from the gun show at T-Town last night. Here are some thoughts:
Why does anyone buy a gun there? Their prices are down-right robbery, and most of the exhibitors aren't in the dealing mood. The only rational price I found there was a Sig 522 22L (I know, I know) for $450. The Desert Scout Recons I found were overpriced about $1200 and the barrels overpriced around 500-800. Ridiculous. Now on to the fun factor. It was great! I got to handle a MP40 (German 9mm Machine Gun from WW2), a BAR, Buffalo Bill's rifle, saw a .308 minigun, an ORIGINAL GI night scope with power supply, and at least one hundred Garands. They had enough AK-47 crap there to supply the Taliban, but hardly anyone carried Saiga .308 gear :(. I could only find a couple of used POSP scopes, which were priced as new. There were 11tybillion AK and AR-15 tables, a ton of .50 BMG tables. The Armalite rep was awesome and very informative. I will own a Desert Scout Recon with .338 and .308 barrels eventually, but it's looks like I will need to be a little more patient. It was worth the jet fuel down and back even if I walked away empty handed. Internet and local dealers still own the gun market, and always will. |
