No interest here in Ben Revere, as I think he's a slightly better version of Dyson but not a major upgrade (worse defensively, slightly better with the bat). But yeah, subtract Rios and Revere from these deals, and the rest of that looks pretty favorable to me.

Yeah - to be clear, I'm talking about his trade from Milwaukee to LA, which netted Jean Segura and John Hedwig and Ariel Pena.

Hedwig and Pena are the upside guys with flaws in that deal. Detroit shouldn't get much more than that for Price. Maybe a slight upgrade, but not to an elite prospect unless a team gets desperate.

I would be open to moving Colon to Detroit for Cabrera, Price, the Redwings, and the Pistons, though.

Cabrera's $31M extension for each of next 8 years starts in 2016. When he is 33. So that would be a terrible trade for us.

Yes. He signed with the Dodgers in 2013. 3 years, $77 mil left on that deal and he's going to opt out after the season and make even more.

If Ventura still isn't 100% why don't we put him on the DL? We have the depth to rest him until he is 100%, unless it is an impending Tommy John where we just wait until it goes.

What an asshole...

Hatred is the highest form of flattery.

Yes - old Eddie is a dickhole, but he wouldn't give two rips about Cain "looking in the dugout" or ( likely more accurate) not playing the game the "white way" if we were the doormat Royals from 1994 - 2012.

Winning breeds hatred - and I will bask in every bit of fit.

do you realize how much surplus value the Detroit Redwings would give us? Hell, that alone was worth taking on Cabrera's salary and the Detroit Pistons.

Royals Review with an interesting look at Bubba Starling: Here.

TL; DNR

Basically, Starling compares pretty well with George Springer's path to the majors, even including the struggles at A+ and the strikeout issues last season.

That would be incredible.

Wait, he said that? The "white way?"

not playing the game the "white way" .

You hit the nail on the head. If that was Mike Trout, he says nothing. I'm not one to jump on the "that's racist" bandwagon, but damn...

@McCulloughStar: Several rival execs speculating about Jay Bruce as a KC target. FWIW, heard Reds scouts have had eyes on Omaha, NWA recently.

Hootie 07-20-2015 02:16 PM

Meh. Not terribly excited about Jay Bruce but he then gives us 3 guys to fit two positions (RF/DH). Not bad in case Morales falls off the map. Rios has started to hit the ball, albeit with no power at all. Eventually Ned is going to have to start using Dyson as the late inning replacement guy in the field, because Rios has just been awful defensively.
