Nobody in America will be rooting for us except our fans. People would look at the Royals like they're child beaters if they beat the Cubs. Public enemy number one lol.

1) Rematch with Los Gigantes. What better way to make the case as one of the best baseball teams of the decade (if not the last few decades) by going back to back and to do so by denying another mythical, even-year WS championship to San Francisco?
2) Square off against the Dodgers. Small-market homegrown team takes down the Yankees of the NL.
3) Cards. A win against the redbirds this year would the icing on a Sheet cake of shit for St. Louis with the Rams (rightfully, IMHO) return to Los Angeles and the Blues annual 1st round playoff exit. More importantly, it would "even" up the score for the 1985 WS which is constantly decried as bogus in light of Denkinger's botched call in Game Six. Going 2 for 3 in WS appearances would match KC with STL's run from 2006-2013. BFiB-type assholes can still crow about their total of 11 titles and that's fine. As for the non-BFiB set.. well, I can't imagine they wouldn't tip their caps to Moore, Yost et al and have discussions among themselves about whether Mozeliak should adopt some of KC's philosophies. That's a win in and of itself.
4) Nationals from just the perspective of an interesting championship series.
5) Repeat on the Mets just from the New Yorker fan meltdown perspective.
