We had one great pick, one good pick, one decent pick in this draft. The rest were horrible, and not just because they weren't good value, but because we ignored better players at more important positions.

How do these moves set the franchise backward?
It's not even close to last year's draft. The issue last year was that we reached for several picks including the most important pick in the draft, traded a marquee pick away for an average QB, and we took several guys like Colin Brown and Donald Washington that were beyond raw.
I can see 4 out of our 5 players getting significant playing time right away. Quite possible that Asomoah is on the field within the next few years too.
We didn't waste any picks this year. We can't win without these kinds of "role players" 3 or 4 years down the road when we're playoff-ready.
Setting the franchise back is either completely whiffing on a worthless pick or resting the franchise on a key player at a key position. The Chiefs definitely got a little better--I don't understand how you move backward when the team has moved forward.
