It's like any other addiction - once you're ready to quit, you'll be able to kick the habit. I had tried to quit unsuccessfully several times before. This time, I was ready. Other than just a handful of cravings, none of which I ever acted on, I never really had any trouble.

I don't miss cigarettes at all. I do miss cigars - some guy was smoking a really nice cigar at the bus stop last night and I moved downwind just so I could breathe it in. Alas, I'm an all-or-nothing smoker, so cigars are part of the past.

Oh man, cigars kill me! The smell of cigs makes me naucious, but cigars make my mouth water. Just played golf, and a couple guys fired up some cigars, that's the 1st real tough time I had since the 1st couple weeks I quit.

Yeah, the cigar smoke I smelled last night damn near gave me a boner. Smelled more like pipe tobacco than a normal cigar. It was wonderful.

Keep it up ladies.

Haven't smoked since April 2007. It use to never bother me when I saw a chick smoke but now it's totally different.

I could think they are attractive until I see that cig in their hand. The sad thing is I know a couple girls that hate smoking but do it because it looks "cool" at the bar.

I haven't smoked a cigarette in a long, long time. I still enjoy a cigar on occasion and I used to chew Nicorettes until I dropped some on a new carpet. And, unlike Mr. frazod, I really don't have a problem with cigars. I can smoke a cigar and still have no desire whatsoever for a cigarette. Two totally different deals, to me.

Bad time to start again, cigs will soon be over $4/pack thanks to the "change we can all believe in".

The federal government just approved a .62 cent tax per pack. Does that help?

I still hate the bar bans, but the Chicago ban probably saved my ass a couple of months ago. I got hammered at the office Christmas party and then we went out to some River North bar and I got even more hammered. I was drunk and shooting pool at a bar and goddamn I wanted a cigarette, but I wasn't about to go stand outside to smoke one.

There should be a new product on the market within the next few months that should help you stop smoking. This product is a pill designed to shut down the part of the brain that "gets high" from nicotine. The theory is, if you don't get any "buzz" from smoking, you will break the addiction b/c there is no benefit.

I was a chain smoker, 50 cigarettes a day for 36 years from 1970 until 2006. Even though both my parents smoked, it wasn't until I was in the army and was stationed in Korea that I picked up the habit.

Now, it's been just over two years since I quit. I used a drug that didn't contain any nicotine, it works on the sensors of the brain. It's by prescription only, it's called Chantax. I got it in December 2006 and I was off cigarettes in 5 days. I was as die-hard a smoker as anyone could be, in fact I didn't want to quit because I enjoyed smoking. My wife, who quit two years earlier, asked if I would try this new drug.
