No one is claiming that *everything* should be taken literally. That's a generalization.
Hootie knows he's wrong in this case, but he's trying to use the "Million Dollars" as a red herring. He doesn't have enough integrity to honor that bet, nor should his fake Full Tilt story come with any credibility given his own "integrity" displayed on here.
The true irony of the situation is the myopia of Hootie, as even his gross exaggeration of "I bet you one million dollars" is not itself universally applicable, either. It's a particularly funny case of being completely wrong about everything. But then again, it's Hootie. Every thread that he participates in pretty much causes the carpet bombing of civilized discourse.
I said it last night, and I'll say it again. Everything that is used about my generation as a pejorative is personified by Hootie. Everything.
