If the QB prospect they need doesn't possess once-in-a-decade type of talent, they don't want to spend any kind of time or draft stock in him.

The Chiefs were 2-14 in 2008 and lost a shit ton of games by seven points or less. If the Chiefs had chosen Flacco and Clady, I think it's safe to assume that they would have won a minimum of five games with a max of eight. Seeing Flacco toss the ball around to Gonzalez and Bowe in year one would have satiated most of the Chiefs fan base.

Hell, I had friends that were season ticket holders wondering why Thigpen wasn't the unquestioned starter in 2009, so I'm fairly confident Flacco would be accepted.
