And the Bengals OL is still trash.

That said - Burrow is really good against the blitz and we don't get a ton of pressure from our front 4.

So, just as we said TWICE last year, it's a game where the DL absolutely has to make a difference. Karlaftis, Jones, Saunders and Clark need to get themselves in the box score somehow.

They've gotta make things uncomfortable for Burrow without sending extra guys because he handles the blitz just like you're taught. And when he does it, those WRs can get the ball in space and make a big play out of it.

C'mon DL - do your thing.

They just have to blitz sparingly and hopefully get to him before he can chuck it to Chase and crew.

Despite this, they’re still middle of the pack in coverage and near the bottom of the league in pass rush.

Chiefs are the best passing attack in the league with one of the best OLs. Bengals haven’t seen a challenge even close to this all year.

Keep in mind they have done this by playing against some of the best defenses in the league. SF hasn’t given up a second half point since KC beat them down weeks ago. They are elite unless matched up against the KC offense led by Mahomes and Reid.

The Bucs defense has given up 16.2ppg and hasn't given up more than 27 all year.

If you don't count the 41 they gave up to the Chiefs.

The big reason you can’t just compare stats is because stats have zero context.

When you add context to the defensive stats for both teams (yardage is similar, points are similar, sacks and other pass rushing stats favor the Chiefs heavily), the Chiefs numbers look better and the Bengals numbers look significantly worse.

And yes, I’m only comparing the defenses. If you can’t slow Mahomes and co down a little, you have no shot. Even when your offense plays well, it doesn’t matter. Mahomes has another level that no one else can reach.

Even walking off the field with a 3 point lead and 13 seconds with the number 1 defense doesn’t matter when Mahomes can do what he wants.

Mahomes & Co stopped themselves last year x2. Credit the butt****ing bungles for changing something up to throw them off, because it happened twice, but we all know that was more on our guys than on them. The offense simply has to play four quarters, and they will obliterate these pretender shitstains.

Bart Scott always picks against us. Didn’t he predict we would miss the playoffs this year?

I wouldn't go that far. But yes, they did expose our weaknesses. And yes, Veach addressed a lot of those through the draft and FA. That's why I think those Bengals fans are in for a surprise. This defense is better and the offense is more diverse.

And one thing about that AFC Champ game is that Mahomes locked in on Tyreek and Kelce. This year, he has been spreading it around a lot more.

I'm not saying this game couldn't be close. As we've seen, some teams just seem to match up better or play better against us. And they are the defending AFC Champs, not some bumbs. This won't be easy. But I'm willing to bet that Patrick comes out with a focus like no other. And when he plays like that, we are damn near impossible to beat.

Ok. Noted.

I expect to see the same comments when some other idiot gives the Chiefs some bulletin board material.

The Chiefs basically can't give bulletin board material, every team they play is massively up for the game because the Chiefs are the measuring stick.

The thing is the Chargers have personnel to give us issues, the Titans style gives us issues, the Bengals have neither, we literally just gave those games away.

Yep. He is a dumber Skip Bayless. Less annoying, but in same category of dipshit.

I expect Andy to have a nice little bag of tricks set up for this game after what they did to us last year.

There was probably a whole section in his notebook of play designs for this game that they haven’t seen yet.
