I'm a big Alexander Soufflè guy. That shot on 16 was 6 inches from being perfect.

Yeah the way he bogeyed 3 out of the last 4 was stellar and 39 on the back was clutch.

things fell apart when the pressure was off

Phil with the lead going into Sunday at the PGA. Probably up there with Tiger at the Masters a couple years ago and when 59 year old Tom Watson had the lead at the Open. He'll be in the last group with Koepka tomorrow. The TV ratings are going to be huge.

ROYC75 05-22-2021 05:35 PM

He had a 4 shot lead and gave the field 3 back on 2 holes! :banghead:

Go Phil!!

Win one for the old guys!!!

hawkchief 05-22-2021 07:06 PM

Phil looked exhausted in the back nine. Hope he has the energy tomorrow to win it.

I said this exact thing to someone earlier who told me Phil had the lead. I said its going to be tough for a guy Phil's age to play 4 straight rounds at full bore. Hard not to get physically and mentally tired.

I hope Phil can find the strength and not go full reerun off the tee.

Exactly.

When Watson led the British Open after 3 rounds at age 59, he said that he was mentally and physically exhausted.

Of course he damned near still won it!

I hope that Phil can somehow find the strength and mental toughness to pull this one off.

It would be one for the ages and one of the great performances in Golf history!

Good luck Lefty!!

As an old golfer named Phil you know who I'm pulling for.
