Tonight's win won't mean much if this team fails to show up Saturday. They need to get back to Columbia, get some rest, and have their best game of the season on Saturday.

Nzoner 01-30-2012 10:19 PM

Ok boys get some rest and get ready for them damn jayhawks :toast:

Don't go to the officiating. Just enjoy the win.

Withey is going to give us fits.

The guy was like 7 of 7 at one point. Nobody else could shoot for shit. If not for him we wouldn't have been in a position to win in the first place. You can't only look at the last 3 minutes.

In any case, I remember when Mizzou couldn't buy a win on the road. I'm pretty happy about this one.

Yes but a lot of those offensive rebounds seem to find Texas players as opposed to the other way around. I saw several shots where the ball just banked right to a Texas player. Not much you can do about that.

And when the ball did bounce to them there wasn't a tiger blocking them out.

Mizzou is undersized to say the least. They have to get bodies on people.

I am hoping MU will play up to the challenge. The last 3 games they seemed to play down to their opponents.

I still think they blew the over and back call. Pressey doesn't just drop that ball without it being slapped away.

There were a ton of non-calls for both sides. When games get that physical, I think both sides are going to walk away feeling like they got screwed.

Nope. They got it right. Pressey never controlled that ball, and it bounced off his knee.

And we tried.

As far as Withey goes I think you just have to drive a lot on KU and try to get him in foul trouble early.

O.city 01-30-2012 10:22 PM

If Ratliffe gets in foul trouble, Miz will struggle to beat KU.

Denmon has been absolutely invisible for the last 3 games or so. Don't know what it is? Teams playing him harder? All his 3's are weak and hit off the front of the rim. Dude needs some 5 hour energy or something?

They absolutely have to attack him early, offensively.

This is a game where I won't have a problem with Pressey going hard to the rack, even if he gets swatted a few times. They should be able to spread the floor with shooters, isolate Withey near the post and get him shuffling his feet to keep up with Pressey.

At home, with the crowd insane, they should get a couple of iffy calls. Get a couple of quick ones on him and he's less dangerous.

O.city 01-30-2012 10:24 PM

Mizzous guards need to get to Whitheys body when they get to the paint.

I think MU will be content to let Robinson get his, Whithey is the problem.

If I were Haith I'd lay zone and make KU's guards outshoot me. Of course it makes it tough to rebound.

MU is going to have to play like they did against Baylor. Crash the ****ing boards and shoot the ball well.
