I think the KU guards matchup pretty well with the Tigers first 3. It's that 4 one thats gonna be a problem.

I think Johnson and Taylor are athletic enough to guard Pressey and Denmon and Releford should matchup well with English.

I guess Robinson is gonna guard MPressey.

His shot is off. He has just got to play through it, keep taking the shots he normally takes, and he will start hitting his shots.

Yep. Don't change anything.. just keep working.

Of course, but his screw ups tonight (missed shots, turnovers, poor execution on the defensive end) almost always led directly to Texas runs. He's played poorly of late, but tonight he was channeling his inner Pioli.

I think the time off will be great for Denmon.

I just realized Barnes had a timeout left at the end there. He probably should have used it when he saw Missouri going zone to prevent his players from getting confused. But then again, he's Rick Barnes.

O.city 01-30-2012 10:39 PM

Rick Barnes has wasted more talent at UT than I've wasted money on golf.

DJ's left nut 01-30-2012 10:40 PM

Yup - good ol' Rick.

That's why I was so concerned when we heard Mike Alden referencing Frank Haith as his very own Rick Barnes.

If Rick Barnes is an answer, you're asking a stupid question. That guy consistently does less with more. His ability to underachieve despite routinely having some of the best talent in the conference (if not the country) is uncanny.

O.city 01-30-2012 10:42 PM

Remember a few years ago, when he went from 18-0 ranked #1 to an 8 seed in about a month and a half.

It's hard to say anything. Afterall, Quin managed to go from ranked #1 in the country to out of the tournament altogether in the span of about 6 weeks himself.

It was impressive work.

O.city 01-30-2012 10:47 PM

Damn, I did forget about that.

Quinn was a man among men.

Or last year when Texas started 11-0 in conference and still lost to KU after losing to Nebraska and Colorado down the stretch.

From 3rd to out of the rankings in less than a month:

http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/...-schedule.html

That's light-speed right there, kiddos. And it got even worse from there.

Just look at the talent on that squad:

http://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/...ouri/2004.html

It's a legit 7-deep that had plenty of talent in the back-court, size in the front-court and athleticism to spare.

Quin should've been fired the day after that season ended. That has to be one of the worst coaching jobs in conference history right there.
