I was there with my son sitting at the bar from 3:30ish until around 5:45 this evening and wondered if you had made it in. The Vienna lager that they have on right now was great.

Definitely super people there too. Owners are great folks, bar staff is great, beers are great. Can't miss!

Oh wow. I was also sat at the bar, near the tills from 4pm until 6.30. Dude at the bar was great. He was talking about how this brewery in England called Phantom made these Blink 182 beers recently and he's dying to get hold of them. So I ordered the beers to my house and am sending them over to him.

Poured at the inaugural Southwest Belgian Fest today (our club made about $2.5K in kickbacks and we need a new A/C for our clubhouse for the love of ****ing god)

I poured for Barrel of Monks out of Florida, pretty good Tripel

I'm not the biggest Belgian beer fan but the Trappist beers were great

Not the best but the most memorable beer was Kerel Kaishaku. Sake yeast, low grain, yet at 15%. Think honey might be used as a fermentable with some fruity esters from the Sake yeast

Anyway, after you've defeated all the other craft beer nerds you must face the final bosses

Some cool guy at a bar gave me a bottle of this barrel aged stout from Side Project. Will crack it open with a mate when I'm back home.

Got this bad boy in today.

20% - and a measly $48.99/bottle.

Gonna be a pass for me, unfortunately.

We need a movement to "make beer affordable again".

Holy shit, yeah that better be ****ing out of this world... it more or less reads like BBA World Wide Stout though, which is about half the price.

Their triple mash was incredible this year, and roughly a third of the price and @18%.

I guess you're paying up for the cool bottle and extra 2% LMAO

Guess I can't say much since I just paid $45 for a 22oz Side Project stout. :D

That beer is great. BA stout with vanilla and cinnamon in brandy barrels. It's a perfect blend of Doug's beers at Cycle and SP's big BA stouts.

KCUnited 11-12-2024 03:11 PM

Made it up to Fate today for King Size

My thoughts:
  • I actually enjoyed it more that I thought I would as I think the base beer, Candy Bar, isn't good and really haven't enjoyed stouts utilizing nuts as they tend to either overpower or taste artificial. But this was pretty enjoyable
  • Like most BA stouts produced here in AZ I don't get much barrel or thiccc mouthfeel which is disappointing for a 2 year aged beer, but I doubt Fate or any other breweries out here are getting many quality barrels. Still, not sure what the barrel contributed other than maybe more sweetness
  • Doesn't appear to be a plan in place to can this, draft only thus far

Solid C+ imo
