Maybe I'm misremembering, but it sure seemed like the line settled down when Schwartz came in -- Fisher included.

Every time Schwartz has played this year, the line has suddenly improved 100%...that's just the facts.

I think our offensive line would benefit from committing to pounding the rock more early in the game. The last two weeks, when they had to run it, they did and got in a bit of a groove late in the game.

If we committed more to running earlier, they could get in that run blocking groove earlier and keep us from stalling drives so much. It might also open up the more space around the linebackers giving more room for checkdowns for Alex.

PM Childress. He's responsible for keeping Reid from going full reerun with the passing game.

Great read, George.

Charles was running behind Schwartz and Albert during that big 4th quarter drive. Allen is terrible at G IMO.

Royals...what is this "Royals" you speak of? Are they the local Lacrosse team in KC?

InChiefsHeaven 09-20-2013 11:32 AM

I watched a little with the band last night at practice. They're always giving me shit because I'm "down" on Alex Smith. I'm not down on Alex Smith, I just recognize that he's not a world beater.

You give Payton Manning that defense, and the score would have been 56-dick. But he's Alex Smith, a solid, smart cautious gutsy guy. He's our QB, and I'm fine with that. I just don't go overboard on the guy. Which to some, makes me a hater.

George....great read! And both funny and discussion worthy.

I understand those who are on the "I have seen this movie before and I know how it ends" mentality because they've followed this team for 20 years....I've been following the Chiefs since they came here from Dallas and I sat thru some sad years of football that most weren't even born yet to see (especially those who have only been around to see the last 20)....I understand them, I just don't agree with them.

I am enjoying watching football again for the first time in many years, and I'm not going to spend my day bitching about how we won, I am glad we won. We've got a defense that might actually make Gaz rethink his vow not to come back and post, and one that makes me sit on the edge of my seat each time the ball is snapped because I might just get to see a QB sacked, a RB de-cleated, a WR get reminded by a DB "don't bring that crap back into my zone, or a Pick-6. To me that is what makes the game fun to watch.

Yes, I would like to see the old aerial circus we used to have along with watching that phase of the game open up big holes for Jamaal Charles to destroy a team with his running ability. I don't think that Alex Smith is our biggest issue (contrary to what others believe) and as he gets further into the year I think he will become more comfortable and do the one thing we all used to bitch about....DON'T THROW ANY INTERCEPTIONS or TURN OVER THE BALL!

But for now I get to smile and be pleased...we are 3-0 and play 4 of the next 5 games at home. If we as fans do our gig and make Arrowhead (once again) a place no one wants to play then I see this team doing good things this years. We need to make the AFC Championship go thru Arrowhead...nothing less.

Good read, George.

It is unreal how ****ing shit ass terrible Crennel was as a Defensive Coach. I mean, these are mostly the same players he had and this defense is INFINITELY better than last year.

Poe is eating souls. End. Jackson is doing pretty well, surprisingly.

How in the hell did Flowers contain Jackson? I have no friggin clue. If I'm Vick, I send Jackson on a 9 or flag route and chuck it his way 3 out of 5 first/second downs. I can't believe Jackson didn't crush us with no safety help. It is unfathomable.

DJ had himself one hell of a game. Good God. He was everywhere. He needs some stickem (thank God Berry got that pick, not Celek). But man, he's a talented son of a bitch. That delay blitz that he hit Vick, on Vicks TD was absurd (credit where credit is due, Vick took it like a man and made a heck of a pass).

I really like Bowe's blocking, he locks his dude up. You'd think after Avery's performance, he might draw some attention to Bowe and he can get back to dominating bitch corners.

It's really ridiculous when we try to pick up 1 yard on 3rd down by running out of a shotgun 2 back formation. :shake:

Lzen 09-20-2013 11:44 AM

But yeah, great read George. Despite the warts, we have a good team this year. I am enjoying the ride. This is definitely batter than the last couple of seasons.

gblowfish 09-20-2013 11:45 AM

Both teams were around 30% on third down conversions.

We seem to have big trouble with 3rd and short. Maybe we need to use Davis with Sherman lead blocking on short yardage more often.

gblowfish 09-20-2013 11:49 AM

BTW: When I said Vick had five turnovers, that's not accurate or fair to Vick. He had four, one of the turnovers was on special teams with a muffed punt. The other four were on his watch, though.
