so if they had a cure, your saying they would make more money off that person by curing them, then prolonging their lives and taking the medicine they are taking now where they live for years

If bg HAS stumbled across a point, it's that pharmaceutical research could be skewed towards long term palliative drugs [that create a long time customer] over curative measures [that create a one-time customer].
But to suggest any curative measures have been squelched is . . . misguided.
