They sometimes take a little 'forcing.' I usually use a flathead screwdriver. Once the keys are off, it's ok to soak in water. Get the water extremely hot though, so it dilutes the sugar (other wise you'll just be getting it wet and the sugar won't come off).

Don't let it sit for too long though, or the motherboard will get soaked. As soon as you take it out, you need to dry it off immediately (but not just the outside. It's the motherboard that you need to get dry). It's best to use the oven (but not directly on the oven rack) a pizza stone or anything else that is non-sticky will do fine. Put in at 350 for no more than 5 minutes.

If you don't have a non-stick sheet or pizza stone, you can use the microwave, but you can't put it in for that long (duh) or it will melt. Two or three rounds of 1 minute a piece should get it nice and dry.

Now you just put the keys back on (kind of time consuming). Also, you can clean the keys while they are off by soaking them in a mixture of bleach and regular laundry soap. Just mix that up in the sink while you running the hot water over your keyboard...

Good luck, and PM me if you have any questions.

Uh I have my doubts about your microwave advise and your 350 degrees for 5 minutes, usually their is an extremely thin sheathing plactic layer in cheap keyboards that will melt and that would become brittle if microwaved. If it is a really top notch keyboard with solid state devices in it the microwave will fry the PNP or NPN gates in them.

I'm sorry Roy but I think she might have to kill you. You simply know too much.

Car washes usually work real good for something like this; be sure to use the "non-spot rinse" cycle after you've lathered the puppy up really good....

She will admit it.
He's had a rough day to start with, I beaned him today at the golf course, right in the leg. Good thing it was the last hole, bad part it was his bad knee.

You know, I can picture that in my mind....heh.

I've heard that the acids contained in piss will immediately eliminate soda pop in keyboards. Take the keyboard to the bathroom and piss on it.....Better yet, female pee has more acid so have your sister pee on it and take some pictures.
