That'd be my second choice.

Thorpe with honorable mention to Bo.

HemiEd 08-03-2005 06:36 AM

Lance Armstrong

Maybe you don't feel the need to explain to us, but maybe you could explain why to the Chicago Whitesox? If Jordan were the "greatest ATHLETE of all time", he'd have been able to beat out one of 100 or so professional outfielders.

Thorpe. I'd love to say Bo. If he wouldn't have hurt his hip we would be talking about him as the greatest ever.

How cool that the greatest athletes of all time are all from 20th century United States...

Jim Brown followed by Jim Thorpe.........

You young'ns did get to see athletes with multiple talents, other than Bo Jackson.

Dr. Johnny Fever 08-03-2005 08:12 AM

It's gotta be Jordan. BB players expend more energy than just about any other sport on a nightly basis have to be in tremendous shape. That plus the level he played at for the length of time he played makes him the obvious choice to me.

I didn't bother to read through all of the replies, but this poll is worthless when you don't include Bo Jackson, Deion Sanders, Jim Brown OR Jim Thorpe. I would vote for any of these guys before I would vote for anyone on your list.

Having Lance Armstrong on here instead of any of these guys is laughable.

Nzoner 08-03-2005 08:13 AM

Thorpe
