I don't know how or why this got started but somebody told me about it so I thought I would say this.
Both sites are big, both sites are high traffic and both sites offer different things for different types of fans which is why both sites are successful. I can't speak of real traffic for the planet but we get around 2500 uniques, 15,000 page views and around 550 forum posts per day. I would imagine the planet gets just as much or maybe more.
Chiefhuddle is geared more towards news, commentary, podcasts, etc and chiefsplanet is geared more around the message board.
That being said there is no reason for making these types of comparisons because it's apples and oranges.
Both sites have members that frequent both places for different things (hell I even post here from time to time) and those members also visit other sites like Wild Bills as well. The beauty of the Internet is that there is so much to choose from that you can easily find a place that fits your personality and needs the best.
Anyway the point is that the larger sites should work together to offer services to our members and potential members and strive to make our communities a better place to hang out and get informed.
As far as I know outside of one site that I believe pretty much every community on the Internet has had their problems with chiefshuddle tries to maintain a good relationship will all the other communities out there.
Thanks,
Chiefs
